Hi all,

i had my RNY in 2007 and haven't been on OH since then. I just had a TT in 12/31 so I am exactly 1 week out. So far the healing has been ok but the right side seems to be puckering and the ends are very tender-the right more than the left.  I have lots of swelling and the swelling on the right tip overhangs the scar.  Is this common? If not what does it mean? I see the surgeon tomorrow and hopefully get the drains removed. So I can ask but just wanted to get some advice first.

also I have had a lot of back pain- about where my kidneys are- I can't tell if that's just from bending forward or something else...

Ok so I'm freaking out just a tad

Sounds normal. The puckering is from the internal stitches. As they dissolve, it releases the skin. Back pain is because your tightened ab muscles are pulling you forward. It puts a lot of pressure on your back and back pain is common.

As always, when in doubt, call your doc and talk to him!  But I think you're ok.

Whew. Thanks so much or the response. I also figured out why the ends of the incisions are more sore than the rest of the incision- it's the only place I have feeling! Lol

I just got a torso-plactcy on 12/30/13. I am still hurting from that. I had a panilectomy in the distant past and that was nothing compared to this. I am one of the few men on earth who understand some of what women go through with a mastectomy  since basically that is what they did to me. Least I am not a man who needs to wear a size d bra any more.
