Brachioplasty
Dec 17 th is my date. was told I can us under amour for my compression garment. What do you think My arm measurements range from 2xx to an xsmall. upper arms are the 2xx wrist is xs and could use and large every where else. Do you think I need to get the real compression garments or try the under amour? What have you guys used ? I know a few of you have hard times with this surgery but wondering if people have less trouble with the arms or more scared they are likely to split open.
I guess all surgeons are different, but I loved my sleeves. I got them here

It was not loose, but it was not as tight. Since it was august, I was bothered by the elastic rubbing on the scar and irritating it so I put a long sleeve cotton top under the garment to have something softer closer to the skin - so this gave me a little bit of room for it. I had no swelling to speak of, not even in my hands. I love the marena garments - I feel so safe in them while recovering. The stage 1 garments are pretty close fitting and even with constant laundering over the 6 week period that you are wearing them, they don't lose their elasticity.
My advise for what it is worth. The upper arm is where you really need the compression the most so I would order based on that. I assume that there will also be some lipo done. Based on what you see, make a judgement on the reduction from the lipo along with the removal of the skin and order that size. I had a good amount of lipo done but my skin wasn't that bad - at least not as bad as some that I have seen. I ordered a large. Try it on as soon as you get it. It should be pretty tight in the upper arms. If you plan on getting 2, you can order one and see what you think, then order the other right after surgery. They ship pretty fast. You could also call marena and ask their advise. Someone on here did that and when it was too big, they took it back even though it was soiled since it was their recommendation although you really want the right fit from the beginning.
when I showed it to the doc pre-op I told him I had it on already and it fit. His comment - oh don't worry, we will get it on you.
Thanks for the responders. I am just worried the dr said they were going to use the wraps at first them compression garments . Getting nervous after what what happened to my leg but not enough to not do this again. So you think I should get it to fit my arm now and the swelling will be taking the place of the fat and skin?
I would get it smaller than your arm is now. My doc mentioned ace bandages but when I asked about a garment, he said yes. He told me to bring the garment with me the day of surgery and they put it on me in the OR. No ace bandages - just some thin adhesive bandages over the scar. I prefer the garment rather than ace bandages because once I remove them to shower, I would be concerned that I put them back on the right way. There is no question with the garment. I really had no swelling to speak of with my arm lift - I'm thinking the garment and the bromelian helped with that.
