10 weeks out from Anchor TT and weight not going down
I had an anchor cut tummy tuck on September 2, 2013. The surgeon removed 8 lbs of tissue. I don't understand why I am still a few pounds above my pre-op weight, especially since my sleeve seems to be giving me more restriction since the TT than before. Has anyone experienced this? How long before your weight went down after your tummy tuck?
It's not a given that it WILL go down. My surgeon's experience is that folks will lose up to 10 pounds post-op due to a revved up metabolism. And that the loss will come back on by the time you hit your one year anniversary. Skin really doesn't weight much. A lot of what's removed is fluid. But you're also still retaining fluid from the surgery, so the number should drift down. Don't expect any big drop, though!
I had the same anchor cut tummy tuck surgery last year and actually remained the same weight after recovery even though the PS cut off 5 lbs. of skin. This year I went back and finished up with the rest of the LBL and actually gained about 8 lbs. that I have just now been able to get back off after 7 months. I thought it was fluid build up for awhile but I had double up on my protein intake for healing and I guess I ended up gaining instead of losing. Even though I went up in weight all my clothes became really lose. Some folks lose weight with their surgery and others remain the same and some actually deal with a gain. I guess that is what makes us all different.
My size 14 pants barely fit pre tummy tuck. I was more likely a 16. At 12 weeks post op from tummy tuck I had lost 16 pounds, but I was still in size 12 pants. Two weeks later I was down 18 pounds total and had dropped to a size 8. I assume it was swelling?!?! At 4-months post op my weight was down 21 pounds.
Push protein and water to get rid of the swelling and see if that makes a difference in your weight. Good luck!!!
