Anyone have a revised tummy tuck?
I had a tummy tuck in Aug 2010. I've recently become very physically active and I'm not seeing results. Getting a little impatient, I decided on a consult with the original practice for liposuction. I went today and they are suggesting a revised tummy tuck b/c my upper stomach is still loose as well as a body lift to get the hips that still sag :( Wasn't planning on doing this again, but I'm determined to get this skin off.
Has anyone done a second phase of plastic surgery for the extra skin? If so, pros, cons? Anyone do a body lift at all? I'm scared of that!
I had a Fleur De Lis Tummy Tuck in May 2012 and had the rest of the Lower body lift in April 2013 with a tummy tuck revision to remove dog ears, straighten my scar line and remove the remaining sagging skin left. I love my results. I am so glad that I did two separate surgeries. It is like getting a second bite of the apple to find tune the tummy tuck while lifting the outer thighs and butt. If you go look at my pictures that is my results just from my tummy tuck. I will load up some final pictures shortly for the complete look from the LBL. I would definitely say go for it. I am glad that I did!
He basically cut me all the way around again except for about 4 inches above the mons and below the navel so that he did not disturb that area. The skin was re-tightened top and bottom and smoothed out. I have a little excess pouch about 1 inch wide that when I bend over will protrude just a little but standing up everything is perfect and flat.
I was cut all the way around again but the skin was re-tightened at the bottom only. I guess he lifted a few inches. But my tummy above my BB did not get tightened. I am trying to understand how your PS did you... did he undermine all the way to the sternum again, did he cut under your beasts and pull your tummy up? Thanks!!!
No. He did not undermine the original upper part of the FDL but when he removed more skin below to straighten out my scar area and reconnected it, I am assuming that the pulling together of the top and bottom smoothed everything out. Other than just the little bit above the navel that has some laxity everything else is great.
I bet he will be able to with the breast implants. Dr. Aldea would not have done one either when I had the TT revised and butt lift. Too much tension on the skin being pulled both ways. He prefers to do it in stages to get the best results and as he says, "get a second bite of the apple" to tweet things up.
