Question on time it takes tail bone sensitivy and skin openings to heal

Hi Mell, you are very welcomed for the pix! And thanks for your kind words - I feel anything but awesome right now. But probably not in the way that you think. I just feel fat and ugly. My core is very swollen and it makes me feel so damn fat. And I cannot do hair and makeup or wear my nice clothes so I feel so damn ugly. I feel like a blob because all I can do is sit around and I hate it. I kind of feel like I did 6-mos ago before my tummy tuck. I knew going into this next round of surgery that I would take a step backward to take several steps forward. But now that I am experiencing it, it sucks! I want to fast forward a few weeks/months!

Go for the revision. The pain is nothing like what we went through with the tummy tuck. There is no muscle plication or undermining. I don't even know if you would have any pain. As far as pain, this surgery even though a much larger surgery was far less painful than the tummy tuck. I was pain free my second day after surgery.

Yikes, that opening sounds rough! What did you pack it with?

Also, the waiting is very hard. Not only do I want to heal and get back to life as usual, but I want to see what the heck my body will look like. Mostly I want to see if the two areas that I am concerned about (ass and breasts) look good or need a revision. I do not like my breasts and I am on the fence about my ass. Dr. Capella said he would revise me during my next surgery if I wanted, but I hope that I like the results of this surgery just the same. I love everything else - thighs, mons, arms, back are fabulous. And he said I will get my waist back.

I completely understand what you are going through, I felt so depressed and blobish after surgery, and even now 3 months out I have my moments. I still have some lbs to loose from by two back to back pregnancies around 15 but honestly I am just depressed! And I dont really know why, I have a wonderful family, a relatively flat tummy (way better than before) I mean they took 10lbs off!! And I did not go all the way around that was just from the front!

I have a follow up consult on January 2nd to have a small in office revision and I am going to see what else can be done in office to fix a few problem areas I have.

I packed with gauze dipped in saline and I packing it in and put tape over it twice a day, it really helped.

I did not have unrealistic expectations of my outcome but I like you wish I could get back to life I still am tight and sleeping is not completely pain free when I move from side to side it still tugs.

It really did take a long time for me to completely heal from my tummy tuck. I recall at 3-mos post op still wearing a binder from time to time to help with the pain when my waist would swell.

I understand feeling depressed. I have seasonal affective disorder and this time of the year is hard for me. And it doesn't help that I just got off the RealSelf board and two of the very lovely ladies that I follow already look terrific and their waists are so small. One woman is 2 weeks PO and the other is the same as me, not quite 3 weeks. I am happy for their transformation but also feel why the heck don't I look like that now?!?!

I have to remind myself of two things. The first is that it took me 3.5-mos last time to see my results. The second is the two women are in their twenties and I am 49. Then again, there are some 20-somethings whose bodies I have seen post body contouring and I looked better than them. So who knows why some bodies look better than others after this surgery?!?!

I think you will begin to feel better in a few weeks. I cannot really recall when I became completely pain free but I think it was around 3.5-months.

I have no experience with the tailbone from surgery, but had the same issue after I lost 110 lbs.  It was very tender to sit since the fat cushion was no longer there.  It no longer bothers me unless I'm sitting on a hard chair for an extended time.    How is your thigh lift?  Mine will be in 6 days.

I can't figure out how to post some before pics of my thighs.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Keep up the good healing work!

I am wonring how to post the pix in a message, too. I have no idea how that works.

My thigh lift is healing well, but I did have an opening in my groin that healed nicely and which I think I now may have opened again.are you getting anything else along with the thigh lift? Who is your surgeon? How long is your surgery?

I'm only getting the thigh lift this time, my first ps.  I would love a lbl and a boob job, but those parts are covered in clothes.  Maybe in the future.  Dr. Alyson Wells is my surgeon and my paper work has down for 4.5 hours.  I assume that will be from start to recovery.  The surgery is outpatient, so I will do my recovery at home.  Hoping my recliner will be comfortable enough for the first week or so.

Getting a little anxious as the 7th is getting closer!

Hi there:

I wanted to tell you that I just lost 2 inches around my waist this month and I am almost 7 months out from surgery.  I told my doctor after my first checkup that my waist was bigger and he said that it was just swelling.  After this long, I had decided it was going to remain bigger.  Now I am really starting to see the full shape of my figure and I am liking it very well.  Give your body a chance to get to the final shape.  It just might take awhile though.  By the way, my waist was a 33 before surgery, 34 after surgery and is now 32 inches.

Wow, that is a long time to see results. I had a similar experience where I lost 2" around my waist in a very short time. Yet I did not see a wait change. Did you?

No weight change.  I am actually up a few pounds from my lowest and still dropped inches.  I am trying now to get back to my 155 lbs.  I am at 163 this morning.  I hope I will drop another inch in my waist when I drop back down.
