Thigh Lift in 3 weeks

I'm scheduled for a thigh lift on 11/7.  I'm excited and nervous as I assume most are before any procedure.  While I'm not on this site often, I have read many different posts. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences, questions they asked and wish they would have asked prior to their surgery.  These came in very handy in my search for a surgeon and making my final decision.  Even after I scheduled my surgery date, I went back for a follow-up to insure that my surgeon and I were on the same page and that my expectations would meet my results.

Wishing all those who have had or will have surgery a smooth recovery!

I can't wait to see your before and after pix. I just had a long incision medial thigh lift last week and I am blown away by my results. I combined my lift with several procedures and recovery was pretty smooth. I am sure yours will be a breeze. Who is your surgeon and how long will your procedure take?

You have been an inspiration to me with your posts and interviews.  It was helpful in putting together some of my questions for my surgeon.  I admire you undertaking these procedures at one time.  I will have to post some pictures of my before and after weight shots as well as my thighs.  While I definitely need a LBL and boob job, I'm starting out with just the thighs since that is what is seen wearing shorts and bathing suits.  Everything else is hidden under clothes.  For my age and loosing 110+ lbs, my body did much better then I expected.  Most of my excess skin is at the top of my inner thighs.  This allows my surgeon to do the incisions in the leg crease, so it hopefully the scars will not be seen wearing a bathing suit.  By pulling the skin up, it should also smooth most of the skin down to the knee.  She will also be stitching the inside to the pelvic bone so I won't have a sagging labia.

I am betting after this surgery, I will probably schedule a LBL since I have a very saggy rear!

Sending you healing prayers for a speedy recovery!

P.S.

My surgeon is Dr. Alyson Wells who is in Hunt Valley, MD.  Surgery should be about 4.5 hours.  Maybe a little longer since she will also do a little lipo on my Mons area.

Good luck to you. In order to get the results that I wanted I had to go with the long incision. I sure hope it lightens quickly!

BTW I had that incision/sewing around the labia and pelvic bone with my thigh lift. Wow did my vulva turn out great. It was too saggy before.

Good luck with your procedure. I had a thigh lift a little over a year ago. I carried a lot of my weight in my thighs so even the massive weight loss left them still pretty nasty looking. But the thigh lift did the trick. I am so happy with my results. It was rough for a few days after the surgery. I was so afraid that I would do something to cause stitches to pop - I had one small area on my left thigh that opened up - it took a little longer to close but not bad. While I hated the compression garmnet, I also came to love it as I felt very protected in it. Several months later while having anotheer procedure, I had some minor touch up lipo to finalize the symetry beween the thighs. I only needed the pain meds during the day after the procedure and for the two nights following the procedure to help me sleep.

Keep us posted with your results.

How long was your recovery?  I'm going on a cruise 9 weeks after my surgery.  My PS said I will be released back to normal activity at 8 weeks, and I should be healed up pretty well (of course, always a chance for some openings).  This is the only thing I'm really nervous about.  What are your thoughts based on your recovery?

Thanks,

JoAnne

I was feeling pretty good at 8 weeks. I had difficulty with one small spot on my left leg - it had opened - about an 2 inches - so it took some time to heal. My drain holes were probably not healed by then. I had stubborn drains. I don't know that I felt comfortable in shorts yet at that time. What will the weather be like? Swelling could also be an issue if you are doing a lot of walking - I would swell during the latter part of the day but be fine in the morning.
