Back scar questions...

Hello friends!

I have scheduled to go make my back side look like my front side. I should have just gone with a lbl to begin with but I was too afraid. I have a question:

What is the numbness like in the back? Does the scar feel "funky" or hurt at all when running? This crossed my mind today while on my run....I would hate to make running uncomfortable in the long term.

Also, did you have to lay more than sit for recovery? Has anyone ever had incisions under the buttocks? I was considering a removal of skin there but I can't find much on that particular procedure.

Thank you all!!!

The numbness in back is less than the front for me. It has alo gotten feeling back faster.  It doesn't hurt when running, but I do feel a pulling sensation. It lessens, or maybe I get used to it, after about 15 minutes but it is there every time I have run since my LBL on June 5 this year. It is not enough to stop me from running.

Thank you!!

Do you notice it bouncing?  Or is it more being numb?  If I run in loose clothes my tummy goes weird numb.

I notice my butt bouncing more. Which is odd, since I would have thought less butt = less bounce. But even that feeling subsides after a little while. And if I wear compression pants, I hardly notice it at all.

Thank you!!  I figured compression pants will remain my good friend.  I also would think the same. I was working out today and had an "aha" moment that perhaps I am worried because I notice all the excess skin now...and it wouldn't be quite as bouncy with some gone.  I remember when I first started running after my ttandmy stomach would be totally numb...not so much a problem anymore.

I had a lbl six months ago and there have been times that I make a quick run to get something and it feels weird. The bouncing of it makes it feel weird and it kind of hurts. I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that my PS added fat on the upper part of my butt. I have not actually gone for a run for exercising from what I have experience I think it'll hurt. After my little run it stayed hurting for a bit. For my recovery I rented a lazy chair.

Thank you!!!  I appreciate your response.  I am worried I might regret having it done if it makes running uncomfortable.

Well my UBL is tomorrow so I will let you know about that one. I know some of the thigh lifts put scars under the buttock folds (circumferential, spiral, etc). My wounds opened for that surgery. The hypertrophic scar is annoying but not necessarily painful. The scars where the incision held are not noticeable at all. I will need a revision regardless. I hope that helps.

Thank you! I had a medial thigh lift and he kind of went under my buttocks a little...most painful incision area I had. I have decided not to be cut there again. I will take whatever I get from having the excess back akin removed.

Good luck tomorrow!!! Keep us posted!

I had the lower body lift about two years ago. The back has much more feeling than the front. I have had no issue at all with running/moving. I usually sat during recovery. A reclining chair works great for this and only cost like $75 to rent it for two weeks.
