So many questions! (Sauceda vs local doc)( twilight vs general)(lift w/out implants?)

Dr Sauceda will be in Las Vegas on June 13th & 14th for consults next year.  There should be several post ops there who never mind undressing and showing off their new Body by Sauceda.  You can see BL & BL/BA, TT w/anchor cut, LBL, groin and long thigh lifts, arm lifts and face lifts. 

You don't have to take out your stitches yourself if your PCP will do it.  My niece removed mine and my drain.  There are threads on Dr Sauceda's group here on OH that give you enough information about traveling to Mexico, what to do before hand - clearing post op care with your PCP etc. 

My first time down, I was in surgery for 12 hrs.  Epidural and twilight - didn't wake up.  My face was 7 hrs, my UBL and a revision on my mons about 7 hrs.

I was a floppy 40D before my lift with a reduction on my left breast.  Now, I'm a 38D and very happy with the lift only.  I don't have upper pole fullness, but my tops fit better with less mass and at the time I was 58 I didn't need to have big boobs... just normal ones.

I did have an LBL, BL, arms and sm groin lift and 4 days later a full neck & face lift including both upper and lower lids.  Dr S did come out a bit to get some of the side boobs, but they are gone now with the upper body lift, along with all the loose upper body skin.

Dr. Sauceda did my ps. I have GREAT results. Dr. Capella is probably one of the best ps in the world, but Dr. Sauceda does great work. MX isn't for everyone. Good luck!

The decision to have plastic surgery is only one step in the process. For me that step was easy. In fact it was a no brainer and I feel very fortunate and blessed that I had the resources to get my surgery when I did. Deciding on a plastic surgeon is an entirely different step and one that can be potentially be the most important. I feel blessed that I have great options in my area. I did some research on the surgeons in my area, asked friends/associates for referrals (I work in the medical field) and came up with 3 that I wanted to meet with in person. Dr. Barnthouse was the 3rd surgeon I met with and after meeting with him in person I immediately knew he was the surgeon for me. He spent quite a bit of time with me explaining my options based on my physical exam. Given his credentials, the referrals and my consultation the decision was quite easy. My best recommendation, would be to meet with more than one before you decide. Given that you are considering surgery in Mexico, I think if it were me, I'd definitely take the opportunity to meet w/ Dr. Sauceda in Las Vegas for a personal consultation so he can assess you and you can personally discuss your case with him.

If you decide you want to have a BL/BA done in a single staged procedure, I'd definitely search for a surgeon with the expertise in performing them both at the same time and definitely one that examines you first before deciding what surgeries you may or may not be a good candidate. As it turns out, I was a good candidate for a single staged procedure and I had a surgeon with the expertise to do one.

FYI: You can search for a board certified surgeon in your area by going to the website for the Amercian Society for Aesthetic Surgery at www.surgery.org. I was on the website today and found it to be a very helpful resource. 

I've had two procedures locally.  First one went smoothly, second (TT, three weeks ago) went smoothly but I developed a seroma after my drains were removed.  It was no big deal because my surgeon is right here and I was able to go to his office to have it drained.  It seems to be resolving nicely.  I hate to think of having my surgeon thousands of miles away and going to my PCP for aftercare.  I want my aftercare done by the person who did the surgery and knows exactly what was done.  But that's just me.

Also I'm not necessarily in love with the "after" photos on Dr. Sauceda's site.  My surgeon's "after" photos look better to me!

As they say, Mexico isn't for everyone and I know it definitely wasn't for me.  I was more than willing to pay more for a local surgeon!

Oh, and as for twilight sleep, I had it years ago for abdominal liposuction and it was horrific -- I remember telling them to PUT ME TO SLEEP NOW!!!  I literally cannot even begin to imagine having major cosmetic surgery without full anesthesia!

I almost went to Mexico but just could not do it... way to scary for me. The extra money it worth the safety net and confidence to me. I also had Dr. Capella he is awesome! 13,620 for arm lift, flankplasty (sides/back), and boobs.... he also does free revisions at 6 months/one year if you want/need them. Awesome guy. Insurance paid for teh front part of my lbl and now working on the covering my thighs.
