Remove galbladder before TT? Time in-between?

Not unlike many wls patients, I've had galbladder trouble post-wls.  The worst of it was a little over two years ago when I was 1 year out.  I had HORRIBLE pains and had an abdominal ultrasound and sure enough, my galbladder had lots of stones and was inflamed.  I went to a couple surgeons and right before I was about to sign up for surgery, it magically disappeared.  Since then, every 3 months or so I've had a short (like couple hours) episode of pain that was pretty bad but comparatively manageable.  At the time I went to the surgeon they said it was not a question of if I would have to have my galbladder out, but when, and that it's easier when it's not so inflamed.

Now that I'm considering a TT, I'm wanting to potentially go ahead and have the gal bladder removed so I won't ruin my new flat tummy skin.  Even though I don't have any current pains from it, I'm thinking it is still a possibility because the surgeons acted like once galstones/galbladder problems, always problems.  I will certainly follow up on this with them, but I am wondering if anyone else wanted to have their galbladder removed before surgery.  If so, how long of a recovery were you told to wait before the subsequent TT surgery?  Thanks

Hi,

I would discuss this with the surgeon that is going to do your PS and see what they say. Everyone is different and heal differently. Congratulations on your weight loss and the next step towards your transformation

I may be crazy, but if it were me I would talk to my cosmetic surgeon and whoever is doing the gallbladder, and see if they can be done together to save money and recuperation time and maybe have insurance pay more than it otherwise would for the TT (anesthesia, at least).

I had hernia surgery and plastics surgery at the same time with two different doctors.  I would think that you could have gall bladder surgery and plastics the same way two.  If you have insurance, having the gall bladder surgery would also help pay the hospital and anesthetic bill too!
