Wow, thank you, it' is kind of a 3/4 view - you can see both of my boobs. Or maybe my lower torso is side view and I am twisting so that upper is 3/4??? I just don't recall. You see, Dr. Capella is wonderful at fixing an aging body but he can do nothing for an aging mind. hahaha

I agree, he does amazing work and he also is very good with aftercare. We put many hours into this article across the past two months. He is quite dedicated to patients and that really comes across in the section on affording plastic surgery, which I just posted yesterday.

My only complaint, and I have heard this from several other patients, is that Dr. Capella's surgical coordinator Terry was very difficult to deal with during my tummy tuck. She lacks competency and has an aggressive personality. I say this because she neglected to give me my pre-op and post-op instructions and written prescriptions. And she was quite rude to deal with on most of my interactions with her. I brought this to Dr. Capella's attention and he must have addressed it because Terry was pleasant after that.

I guess I am still not getting it, you had all sorts of concerns about your surgery, you scar is uneven and now you need a revision and his office staff sucks and you are going back for more?  All those things combined would make me look elsewhere.  He is being overly ambitious with this next surgery and given what you went through with the first it seems like too much.  I honestly fear you might not be able to handle what is in store.  I certainly hope I am wrong.  I want to see you thrilled and happy with your body as I do everyone, just not certain I get why you love this surgeon so much, just because he took your call at midnight?  That's his job.

I always appreciate that you are forthright. And I know you witnessed how emotional I was after my tummy tuck.

I truly believe Dr. Capella is a brilliant surgeon and the very best there is with body contouring after massive weight loss. I have wanted Dr. Capella to do this surgery since 2006. I love my tummy tuck and never thought I could have a body that looks like this. And I am excited for what my new body will be. I am thrilled to be making my dream come true.

As for aftercare, he did much more than take my call at 2am in the morning. I won't go into all the details but he literally held my hand from 700 miles away. Sure I was scared after my tummy tuck, but there was never anything wrong with me.

In order to agree to such a comprehensive surgery, I talked very long with Dr. Capella. We had several legnthy in-person and over the phone consults. Now leading up to this surgery, I have been very anxious these past two weeks. And I have called him a few times. Additionally, he is seeing me twice when I get into town before my surgery. All in all he has consulted with me for 6-hours for a 6-hour surgery. I've also spoken with many of his patients who ahve had extensive surgeries with them and I understand about the recovery and know the risks. I have finally put my fear aside and feel I am prepared for this.

It is not unusual for a tweak to be needed after surgery. I have discussed this with several plastic surgeons. The scar is uneven because there is a fat deposit there. He could have removed that in his office. He told me that sometimes he cannot get it all and the fact that I lost so much weight (25lbs) has created skin laxity. So my tummy is not as tight as it was, nor is my mons. That is the reason for the revision. Besides, I wanted to convert to an LBL so it makes sense to open the incision back up. It will give a better aesthetic outcome to have one scar go circumferentially across my body.

I will be staying at the care facility for 3 nights and then at a hotel for the remainder of my two week stay -- alone. I feel good about doing this, I am getting a sense of strength from it. I sure hope that I am right and you are wrong. Give me a virtual wakeup call if I start acting like a baby like I did last time.

Oh, about his staff. I think Scott the PA is highly competent and Kimberly the patient coordinator is very sweet.

You will be very glad you decided on the care facility.  I think spending my first couple of nights at an aftercare facility was one of my best choices ever!  I just wish I'd known it was an option when I had my facelift!

Good luck with everything!
