Here is a link to my before and after pictures from thigh lift surgery. These pictures were taken 3 weeks out. Would you be happy with these results?

I would not be happy with the cellulite and the skin around the knees. As for the bulging/uneveness is it still possible that they will improve over the next few weeks? If I recall correctly it takes 6-weeks to see the results.

I am so sorry that you are very unhappy with your results. I know how very excited you were for this surgery. Will your surgeon revise you for free if you are unhappy?

Yes, I have some healing to do.  I anticipate the scar line will lay flat (I heal extremely well).  But I do not anticipate a smoothing out of skin tone texture and appearance and certainly not a reduction in the bulging skin around the knees.  I have not talked to my surgeon.  The last time I saw him he told me to see how things heal and then come talk to him.  So no, I did not expressly talked to him about a revision but I did tell him I was disappointed and that I thought he would have pulled my skin tighter.

I very much appreciated when I expressed some concerns with my mons that Dr. Capella immediately offered to revise me. I hope your surgeon will do the same for you.

I would be disappointed, too. My knees look like yours. Maybe he was trying not to give you a shorter incision so it could be hidden, but if I ever get mine done I want it longer if needed to address the knees. I have seen great smooth thighs post-plastics so I know it can be done.

Talk to your surgeon.

It really looks like he stopped short.  A longer incision would have taking in the knee area and given you smoother results.  Your upper thighs look great but he did not finish the job, I guess he was trying to keep the scar from showing when you wear shorts. I would talk with him about a revision to finish what he started.

I would be unhappy - and my thighs are in worse start shape than yours!  But i am never sure how to "temper" my expectations against what is possible with the skin laxity issues we suffer as WLS patients.

I agree with the others.  I don't think he went down far enough to give you the best result.  They look great, but unfinished, if that makes sense.

Very well said.  But I wonder... If the incision were to extend farther down my leg what would the "end point" around the scar look like?  Can anyone comment on that?

In fairness to my surgeon, I am 3 weeks out and still healing.  But damn I just wish he would have pulled my legs tighter.  Next time I will offer to pull the skin taut myself (kidding).  Thank god I have not lost my sense of humor.  This has been an emotional 3 weeks for me to say the least.  One minute I am depressed, the next minute I am pissed.

I think your "end point" would look just like your current incision, just further down.  I'm having the TL done early next year, and when the doc indicated how far down he'd have to go, he stopped just at the top of my knee cap.  The trade-off is a more visible scar, but scars fade.
