Anyone use Dr. Joseph Capella in NJ/NY- surgery on Aug 29th for Boobs and arms
For anyone getting an arm lift, remember it takes time to heal. I had no openings or problems with my arms, but I was extremely careful. I did not raise my arms above my head at all. My daughter washed my hair daily in the beginning and I lifted nothing. I had a lift chair so I did not use my arms to get up. I wore clothes that either opened up in the front or that I could slip into by pulling them on from the ground up. As I said, I am about 5 wks out, I just started lifting light things. I started washing my own hair about 2 wks out but I still do not reach up for heavy items in a closet or pick up laundry baskets or lift my 25 lb dog. When I am totally healed, 8 wks from body lift, then I will slowly resume all of these things. For now my family is getting a lesson in all the things that I do, that they don't realize or appreciate :)
Hi! I'm almost 6 weeks out from LBL, breastlift, and arm lift with Dr Capella. I loved hackensack and didn't have any problems with them nor did I tip them. I also was able to reach everything just fine and even though I had the sleeve, I've always stayed away from artificial sweeteners so I could drink whatever they brought and I use straws. You may need to pack extra according to your diet and needs. I did not care for the aftercare place. It's basically a nursing home and I found the nurses to be unattentive. I took a shower the second day there and had my Mom wash my hair for that and the next shower but after that I could just lower my head and wash. Get lots of extra pillows to elevate your arms but other than that they have been a non issue. My scars go from elbow to armpit then down the sides to my breasts. I cannot extend my arms all the way above my head yet but I'm getting there. I've not had any major swelling in any parts. I loved Capella and Scott as well as had some of the best care at Hackensack. I LOVE my arms, my tummy and my cupcake boobies (small and perky with cherries on top). Everything has been so easy. I did not use compression btw and have been leaky in a few places but those have dried up for the most part and everything is going swimmingly. Remember to get your prescriptions filled ASAP though and bring cough drops like the other person said and I would bring some snacky foods/drinks too or have your partner get them. I was hungry after surgery and apparently had a clear liquid restriction that took forever to get changed so I was very hungry. Feel free to send me a cell number or email addy and I'll spam you with my pictures :)
