I did a lot of research and I hope I made the right choice but would love to see/hear other peoples stories.

I am getting a breast augmentation and an extended arm lift done at the same time.

Has anyone used him or know of him?

Any help or advice would be soooo appreciated !

Dr Capella does amazing work. He did an extended arm lift and breast lift (I did not need aug), along with body lift, muscle tightening, &flanks about 5 wks ago.You can see the effects of the arm lift right away, although my hands and wrists were slightly swollen. I recovered in a lift chair and keep my arms elevated on pillows, and the swelling went down within a day or two and did not return. (I did take Sineech- arnica montana and took it as instructed on the package. I got from Amazon. I told Dr Capella- he said it was ok with him.) I did not use any compression. My scars are extensive - from my elbows up under my arm pit down the sides of my body, but when my arms are at my sides, they are simply beautiful. The scars are already flattening and getting better every day.

His assistant Scott is wonderful too. I am hoping to have Dr Capella do my thighs in Dec.

(However, I must say that I was not too thrilled with Hackensack (1 of the top 50 hospitals?? ). I suggest you bring cough drops, clear protein drinks or propel/gatorade, because getting any of these things in the hospital will just not happen.   I asked for Gatorade or another electrolyte drink, at 7pm when I was finally admitted to a room,  the nurse tossed a paper menu at me and  told me she would come back. When she showed up about a half hour later, I asked her to get me a protein drink or gatorade, she told me I could not get anything because the cafe closed at 7:30pm. At that point I demanded to speak to a nursing supervisor- the result- at MIDNIGHT, 5 hours later, I was brought carbonated, full sugar Gatorade, which I can not drink.

Also bring a sports bottle with ice so you can add your drinks as you want, and be able to drink it without having to lift your arms much. The put a pint of milk with a straw and a bowl of dirty looking broth  with a spoon on the tray next to my bed . I explained that I had a body lift along with an arm lift and can not pick up the spoon and I can not use straws because I had the sleeve and they just ignored me- no help what so ever. When I asked for a sports bottle, they looked at me like I was speaking Chinese and pretended they had no idea what I was talking about. Luckily when my husband came up, I told him what I wanted and he got it for me. A few hours later, they tried to bring me another bowl of mush with a spoon along with another straw and pint of milk again. .I actually filed a complaint at the hospital I was so annoyed. )

My last tip to you is-an I am not kidding- TIP the Nurse and aid if you have to stay overnight. The one next to me did- when I rang the bell because I was in pain, the nurse and aid went over to her to chit chat with her and her husband and were fluffing her pillows and asking what she wanted as I yelled from my bed, I am the one who rang the bell! Then the one next to me asked the nurse to open MY curtain so she could "see me" and the Nurse actually  DID!

I have been hospitalized several times (I am in my 50s ) in other hospitals and I have never experienced the crap I did at Hackensack- so be prepared. If I had known they were so incompetent, I would have had less expectations, and I would have packed my own cough drops, drinks, food, ice, ( although I did bring hand sanitizer, hand cream) and I would have had a better experience.SO be prepared, but don't worry about Dr Capella, Scott or your results- you will be very pleased, just remember it does take time to recuperate.  (Sorry, I know nothing about implants). Hope this helps you- Best of luck!

Thank you thank you THANK YOU! For all of the info :)

Lucky for me I will not need to stay over night at the hospital, thank god after hearing your story!

I hear he does amazing work with arms so I am very excited. I am getting my "flank" done to but was not sure exactly where the cuts will be and how much of a difference it will make to my back/side? He said hes going to do it with the arms..idk!

The whole no using drains thing freaks me out a bit but it a def plus.

I guess my biggest fear would be 1- having big fake looking boobs (yuck) and 2- being in a 4 hour car ride home on the same day.

Thanks for the info on HUMC. I had a tummy tuck with Dr. Capella nearly 4-mos ago. For that I stayed at CareOne overnight and they seemed under staffed. I will say that the folks who worked there were very nice, just that they were slow to respond. Bells were going off all night from patients needing things. They need more staff. What also was nice is that they made me exactly what I wanted to eat, to order.

Dr. Capella does excellent work. May I ask why you chose him?

I know after hearing her story I am so glad I do not have to stay over night in the hospital!

If you dont mind me asking... how was your swelling? I hear he does not use drains or really pressure garments

Ok, he is not using any compression garments.'

I was scared about it  .

I woke up after arm lift with my arms wrapped in elastic wraps and with abdominal pad under each arm,

If I know, I would keep them for 2 weeks.

Dr Capella removed everything in 48 hours after surgery and used nothing.

My armpits opened 1 week after surgery from moist under arms and if I had pads , I will not have that issue.

I still have open wounds even 4 month after surgery.

I just wan to tell you if you can keep wraps and pads under arms for 2 weeks at least, it will do better for your arms.

Aftercare Dr Cappelala is excellent, no complains.

He also did my upper flunks and everything healed perfect  You will be in great hands.

I researched him THOROUGHLY. Plus I have had many interactions with him in the past few months since my tummy tuck. He is a brilliant surgeon and a compassionate physician. You have chosen well. Dr. Capella is among the best of the best.
