5 days post TT, muscle plication-sternal pain
Julie:
I had the muscle spasming after I had my TT and hernia repair. I took Oxycodine for the pain and did not do anything for about two weeks. The pains do catch you off guard. And, I did walk like a little old lady for about 10 days bent over not to put any kind of strain on it. It will get better, Congratulations on your surgery. I went back 11 months later and had the butt and thigh lift to complete the LBL and my results are awesome!
Hi Julie:
There was less pain because there was no muscle repair but I had to sleep in my lift chair for 3 1/2 weeks because I could not get out of bed without feeling like I was pulling apart at the seams. I was able to walk more upright so I did not have the back pain that I had from the Tummy Tuck. I am still numb all away around my body as my doctor made my incision come back around front to remove excess dog ears and straighten my scar line up from the tummy tuck. The only part he did not cut this time was about 4 inches above my mons which I am so glad, any higher there and I will be peeing like a fountain. (heehee).
Hi Tess, I have thought that there would be no way I could deal with an LBL unless I got it done in 2 parts, but I have heard folks say that it doesn't look good. Something about the scares not matching..... What's your take on that? Thanks for your help and congrats on getting your work done! _ Jenny
I went back and forth with my surgeon about tummy tuck versus LBL. The whole scar all around the body thing was freaking me out.
He was confident he could do either a two part LBL (tummy tuck first/butt lift later if I decided I wanted it) or the all-at-once LBL, but his opinion is that he gets better results when he's doing it all at the same time. I trusted his opinion and went for it. Couldn't be happier with the result, and really had no big pain from the butt lift. There's no muscle repair on your hiney, so once the incision is healed, you're done.
Hi Jenny,
My LBL was done at the same time as my breast lift, arms and small thigh lift. There was very little pain, more like discomfort, except for the face, that was a little painful.

Wow! Julie, I didn't know you were having PS, girl. Congrats! Question about terminology...I thought when you got abdominoplasty that term then included what was considered panniculectomy? Or does that more have something to do with how insurance pays for it? Was your hernia bad? Take it real easy so that you don't undo it. I didn't lift practically anything for 2 years! Glad your on the mend. _ Jenny
