What were your post op exams by your surgeon like?

mine have been quick. like him in the room under 10 minutes (including when he took the drains out). he just checks everything out and pokes and prods a bit. i don't have another appointment until the end of october for my pictures though.

I drove 700 miles one way to see him, so I guess I wanted to feel it was worth the effort, LOL! I did spend a lot of time with him all in all because we discussed my next procedures. I am excited for that.

What a difference I felt in being photographed pre op versus post op.

I was in Monterrey and Dr Sauceda dropped by daily both in the clinic and at the hotel room.  Only time he check incisions was if I had a problem, but his nurse was looking at them daily and giving him info on my healing.  I saw him at 8 mo out, 16mo, 2.5 yrs.

For your mons area, make sure that you are massaging it 2-3 times daily.  You can use any lotion.  It will help to break down the scar tissue.

Wow, that is great to know! Thanks so much!

i do not want to sound as if I am complaining about my surgeon. He really did hold my hand (figuratively speaking) for quite a few weeks post op. and he has given back to me in other ways, as well. I have a lot of respect for him and his physician's assistant... And I am rather hard to impress. I just wish that he would give me more detailed explanation without me having to probe him. The scar massage is a good example. I meant to ask him how to get rid of these, or at least lessen them, but I forgot. Thanks again for the info.
