What were your post op exams by your surgeon like?

I had a post tummy tuck exam with a plastic surgeon who did not perform my surgery, owing to me moving out of state. That exam seemed overly detailed. I had my 3-mos exam with my actual plastic surgeon and thwt exam seemed overly brief and that it could have been handled by phone. So, I a, just wondering about the details of your exam- what took place? We're you partially clothed or not? Was your incision examined? Your tummy and mons? How long did it take? Thanks very much!!!

After my tummy tuck, I had follow ups at one day, then one week, then 3 weeks, 8 weeks.

then I saw him at 6 months , 10 months and 12 months.

At each appointment, he examined my incision line (I put on a robe, kept on my bra).

My incision healed very well and no revision was needed.

Mine was via hospital clinic and often I was seen by any ps of five waiting rooms but the case files were divided by before procedure, right after and stitched, further follow-up, or in my case with wound-healing issues, freak-out and if my PS was not available I would ask if I could choose from which of the other ps were there at the time.
Due to my weird wound-healing I was often given a lot of attention verbally and visually - but no robe -just removing or lifting certain clothing and standing or laying on the bed with curtain closed and nurse nearby. Sometimes my PS, if he had travel plans for conventions, would call in the other ps's to see what was happening on my body so they would know when to be concerned at my next follow-up appt.
But the again Israel is socialized medicine, I had wound issues and the ps-s all knew me and that I am alone on my journey.

Partially robed. Mainly looking at the incision and answering questions. The exams got briefer as I got further out. I had no complications, so not much to look at other than to admire his work. enlightened

I thought it was weird that he did not check my incision. It is painful in the mons and there is scar tissue there that is hard under the skin and dark patches in the skin above the scar tissue. The rest of my scar looks and feels fine to me.

Has anyone had this problem with their incision or know what it is and if there is any treatment?

PS when he has checked me pre op I have been nude under the robe. You know, when I was embarrassed by my distorted figure. Now that I am looking good he had me keep my bra and panties on, when I could care less about being nude any more. LOL

i so love my new body angry

Sounds like a pulling sensation in the moms and just scar tissue to me.

They use some pretty heavy suturing in the mons area if you had a mons lift, and that can cause some pulling sensation, bulging and hard patches.  It should flatten out and improve after the internal stitches dissolve.  I was told these can take 6-8 months total.

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you. My surgeon is brilliant with body work but I find that he does not go into a lot of detail when I ask questions. And I don't always remember to explore the question deeper until after I have seen him/spoken to him.

Super excited about my results. I lost 16 lbs and 16 inches from my tummy tuck and mons lift. Seven of those inches were on my waist. He showed me my before photos and I was astonished. I think all that I said was wow, and oh my God. I guess thwt I have selective memory. It is great to look back on those before photos to remind myself how far I have come. I plan to make a video of all the before and after photos of myself, like what women do when they chronical their pregnancy.

I also have a friend who is an artist. Virtually all that he paints are naked women (he loves his job). When I am done I am going to ask him to paint me. I think that would be pretty cool.
