Hi - I will be doing a tummy tuck scheduled for labor day weekend.  I hear that you won't be able to walk straight up for several days post-op and that your back begins to hurt from being hunched over so much.

A few questions for all my Tummy Tuck vets :-)

1.  How long did it take for you to walk straight up?

2. Do you think doing Back exercises (i.e pull downs, planks) will straighten the back muscles enough to prevent back pain?

3. How do you feel about your scar?  Does your scar make you feel self-conscience during sex?  (This question is especially for us single people who don't have spouses that are already pretty understanding LOL )

Thank you so much!

Back pain is worse than any of the other pain I've felt so far. I got some biofreeze and i've been kinda flexing side to side and moving around more to make it better. I'm 3 weeks out and just now starting to straighten up. I do NOT think back exercises will help preop, it's like a tight rope is from your ribs to your panty line pulling tight in the front so you have to hunch over to keep it from hurting/pulling.

I'm not going to mind my scar at all! I do have a spouce but I'm already planning on wearing scar bearing clothing for belly dancing and hoop shows.

I had extended abdominoplasty with fluer de lis cut 3 weeks ago...I had no back pain but ended up with some neck pain/migraine for 2 days. Everyone is different, I prepared myself for the worse, but was pleasantly surprised at how well I felt right out of surgery. Best of luck!!
