X-Post: L-arginine...Does this supplement help with healing?

I'm just about to begin Phase One of my lower body reconstruction...lipo for the fat deposits hanging onto loose thigh skin.

I was an extreme pear shape pre-op, and carried most of my weight in my lower body., so this is going to be a very big surgery.  That's why my surgeon wants to stage it. lipo first, 6 month heal , then removal of the thigh skin.

Did anyone take the supplement L-arginine to help with healing?  If so, did it really help?

I have never let go of my shakes, and my surgery has been delayed by some nutritional issues following my Mom's decline and passing last year.   I was in PCM (protein calorie malnutrition) which is not good if you're going to have surgery of any kind, also was vitamin K deficient.  All that has been corrected, except for vitamin D and Zinc, and I'm still working on those.  It may come down to pre-op infusions to get that on the right track.

Yes, it does. It was recommended to me by several HCPs.

It makes sense that it would,  I just never knew anyone who used it.

Thanks for the input.!

The powder form that you add to your drink tastes AWFUL. I switched to the pills. They are not as bioavailability but I could not bear the taste.
