Yep. I have a massive seroma. I look six months pregnant. Off to the hospital tomorrow for an ultrasound and the probably surgery to drain/remove the seroma. I knew I couldn't get through another surgery with NO complications. I swear, I'm done after this. NO more. I'm too old and tired for this. :(

Oh crud, so sorry to hear this. I know it feels like hell right now but you will get through this. I went thru a lot of stress with my TT but after a few weeks of recovery, I loved my results and the stress and pain were well worth it. Then I wanted to do the rest of my body! You may change your mid once you get over this hurdle. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it is not from an oncoming train

I thought I had a seroma, too, seems like forever ago. Well, I actually did have a seroma but it was too small to drain. I go for my 3-mos post op in mid July and I am super excited! I cannot wait to see the before and after pix side by side. It is going to be impactful.

Some people have told me that draining the seroma was no big deal. Others have told me it was not pleasant. I hope it goes well for you!!!

I developed one after my closure surgery to fix the largest of the wounds that opened up after my LBL.  I had it aspirated in office a few times and it finally just reopened on its own about 3 weeks out, and then the surgeon widened that opening and is just allowing it to drain on its own.  Its still draining now, not as much, but enough that I cant close it yet.  Sucks and is a bit uncomfortable, but nothing compared to having open wounds and wound vac for weeks and weeks and weeks...

Update: Never made it to the ultrasound. My incision line in the front above my mons opened up and started leaking fluid. If I squeezed, it would shoot out! Remember I was super duper swollen.

So I phoned the surgeon and he arranged for me to have surgery that afternoon. I have a new incision about 3" long where he got rid of all the fluid, and he removed the faulty drain. He put in a new drain. This one is HUGE. So thick I cannot strip the tube. I hate it! It hurts so bad. And he put it in my mons area!! Any way I move is painful.

The only good news is that my belly is back to normal swelling size and the drain is putting out fluid. Still over 30 cc a day. I go back when it's putting out less. That seems impossible at this point.

I go back to work in 16 days and I just cannot imagine that. I'm so not ready. This drain had better be out by then. I'm trying hard to fight anxiety now.

So, with this massive freaking hose coming out of my crotch, I'm basically on the couch staying drugged. :(

OMG, I don't know how you did not freak when it popped open. Sorry for the big drain. My drains where in the mons, too. I was surprised when I saw them there... feel better and get well soon!

The mons drains are awful, mine were very irritating too. Hopefully you can get them out soon and are feeling better. Did they give you anything for the anxiety?
