Losing Weight post plastics
I am curious on hearing how many lost weight during post plastic surgery recovery. Also did you gain it right back after returning to normal health?
I am 3 weeks post op, still have not returned to work or normal routine. I am losing weight even though I am swollen, down 7 lbs now, hopefully not muscle loss. I know that my skin weight removed was minimal so is not that. I am eating very good, protein shakes, high fiber, all to try to maximize recovery. I still can not do much though, not very active yet at all.
I would not mind keeping these pounds off, but do not wish to lose much more.

I am about 9 weeks out from LBL. Ive had nothing but complications, so I dont know if that is playing a role or not. Anyway, Ive lost about 15lbs since surgery- and that does not include the skin I lost during surgery. I am eating what I can, and supplementing with a lot of protein shakes (about 4 a day). I do not want and cannot afford to loose weight. I am now considered underweight per BMI and I am very much looking gaunt and skin & bones. i KNOW a lot of it is muscle atrophy, because I went from being very active and working out everyday, to being sedentary and having HUGE calorie and protein draws from my body trying to heal. Im nowhere near close to being able to get back to work, or my regular routine. I JUST had another area of my incision open up last night- so this road will be very very long for me.
6 months post LBL - took off 6 lbs of skin, and I lost 10lbs. Stayed off so far, but my doc warned that they often come back at about the year mark. I was stunned I had lost anything. My appetite, particularly for protein, was voracious after surgery. It finally calmed down a few months ago and I'm back to normal eating.
Sorry about your complications, p poster. I also am battling openings and swelling. I am also battling constipation that has been severe at times. I also went from very good athletic shape, weight training 2x weekly, to barely any activity. I have been doing protein shakes twice daily, might have to bump it up. I have no appetite, but feel like I am eating constantly.
Definitely weird. Right now, I only want to be better and back to normal, but it is all a waiting game, isn't it?
Interesting about gaining it back at the one year post op. Time will tell, I guess for me.
My first round went in at 140, and by the time the swelling and water weight gain came off, I was back to 140. I did put on 12+ lbs after I stopped dancing several nights a week, along with a relationship breakup. I took 4 off before I went back for my UBL. I've since dropped 10-12lbs, not changing my eating or adding in exercise. Generally between 137-140 now. I'm 6 months out from my UBL and 2.5 yrs from all my body work.

Yeah probably a good idea to stay off scale, I feel like a balloon right now ready to burst. I have a seroma in tummy. And massive swelling in my legs now. Honestly, I really dont care about my weight at this moment, just trying to divert my attention from these complications.
I am sure my weight will even out, I just hate this inactivity.
