2 years, 223 pounds, starting to think more about plastics

I think doing it at Christmas would be fine. 2 weeks of having the hubby there full-time should be plenty. I had a lower body lift and breast lift at the same time. After 3 days I could do all my wound dressing myself and really did not need any help with anything. My mom has an adjustable bed and that helped tremendously. If you do not have one, you may want to look into renting an electric recliner so you would not need help getting in and out. Others have done well without it, using the couch and pillows, but the bed for me was a godsend. If I did not have that, I would have rented a chair. I like being independent.

I was driving at two weeks out, but maybe see about having your sister there for a week after your husband goes back to work would be nice to help with driving the kids around.

Work on the insurance and then just do it. You deserve it.

Yeah, I'm sure the insurance will say no, but I just want to try at least. LOL. I know, I know...

The pain meds are the big issue with getting around. I've been on them now for a few months waiting on my lumbar fusion. I can't drive on pain meds. We'll see... I have a few months to figure it out. Thanks for the ideas! Much appreciated!

My insurance wouldnt cover the upper stomach EVEN WITH documented severe skin fold inflammation and nasty belly button leakage. They did pay for 3 different medications, a CT scan to see what the source of the leakage was, 6 doctor appointmetns about the same exact issue, dermatology appointments, and a couple various tests. They have their priorities way backwards :-p

I hope you can find a way to do it. I wish you didnt have to wait for your back, but by the time this is all said and done, hopefully you'll be feeling as good as youre going to look :)

Thanks, I'm pretty sure insurance won't, but I just feel like I should try. Hell, they didn't cover the VSG and I've saved them countless $ on various meds related to my weight, dammit! LOL

Yeah. It sucks. It is what it is though. I'm just ready to do this and get it over with at this point though. Back issues SUCK

I had the same issue with taking care of my self as far as the hygiene issue goes. My insurance required 3 months of consecutive treatment for recurrent problems with skin breakdown, rashes, boils, etc. I have a very good relationship with my dr and she really "helped" me as far as the documentation went. I had to appeal my insurance twice, even though my pannus was mid thigh and met the size requirements. They denied because of no medical documentation, so I got the documentation.

Yeah, I worry about that part. I'm just not sure I'm willing to let it get bad... it really gets bad when it gets bad, as I'm sure you know. SO frustrating. Luckily, my PCP is amazing as well. Sigh. Always something.
