date- June 3
clinic hospital setting- 2 nights I think
dont remember getting up on my own, definitely didn't walk around
no binder
yes to compression garments, were put on me, and have to wear 24/7 for 6 weeks
Drain- one out of mons area, with little bulb collection, have to measure and log output (lanyard invaluable)
dressings- gauze over all incisions, changed daily and neosporin put on by nurse, still on. When stitches out and healed, i plan to switch to silicone sheets to cover incisions
showering- nurse showered me second day i think. I have hazy memory of sitting on chair and being washed. Have showered every day since.
Pain meds- not sure what i had in clinic, but it worked, had no pain, and barely memory, when switched to hotel given Tramadol, one every 12 hours. This was enough at times, but had to add hydrocodone, one pill most days, also sleeping pill some nights.
Surgery -Extended Tummy Tuck with Muscle tightening and Neck Lift
Date - November 2006
How long did you stay in the hospital - I didn't - 10 hour surgery at Yale, a teaching Hospital and I recovered and went home
Did you get out of bed at the hospital - the nurse took me to pee before I checked out
Binder or no binder - Binder
Compression garment - Yes I used some sort of girdle thing, I don't recall which one
Drain placement and how many - 4, two for my tummy tuck and two for my neck lift
Type of dressing and how long has it stayed on -I had stitches behind my ears that were like briars and hurt equally as much, I had internal stitches with my tummy tuck and steri strips over them. The stitches in my head took a week to come out, although the drain was only in for a day or so. The drains for my tummy tuck were in a week or so.
Showering - Was allowed to shower
Pain meds - Percocet or something like it, I took a few, I don't like to take pain meds
I had my neck revised and my arms done a year and a half after the initial surgery to make my neck a little tighter and get rid of the extra arm skin, that surgery was easy for my arms, briars again for my head.
