benadryl for itching

I've read several posts that say to use benadryl for the itching that comes with healing . Is it the same benadryl for upper respiratory allergies? That's the only kind I can find. thanks.

Yes. Your choice of drowsy or non-drowsy formula. Id avoid drowsy if you are still on any narcotic pain killers or muscle relaxers.

I feel pretty good but the itching is kicking in lol. I'm swollen but everything looks good and seems like I'm healing okay. the pain is minor now

Yep, and I got the generic or Walgreens brand.

My doc suggested cutting my pain meds by 1/2 and adding 25 mg of Benadryl. He said the Benadryl 'extends the life' of the pain med by relaxing you and cutting any itching you have.

I took 25 mg during the day and then 50 mg at night to sleep when I needed it.
