What was everyone prescribed for their TT and for how long?

I was given percocet (5/325) for 5 days, meaning I run out tomorrow night/Wednesday morning from my extended TT with lipo on Thursday. I tried cutting back and switching every other dose to Tylenol today and I was in SO much pain. I just wanted to get an idea of what everyone else had before I call for more pills.

I can only take Demerol because of allergies. I think I could have gotten refills from my surgeon for a couple of weeks if I had needed it. I asked at my consult how long most of his patients needed pain meds after LBL and he said about a week and a half. So when my first prescription ran out at 5 days I wasn't worried about calling for a refill to cover the weekend. I think I took them for 8 days and then only before bed for a couple of additional nights.

I think its pretty standard for them to write an initial rx for 20 pills (5 days worth), but won't on't your surgeon give you a refill if you call? You should be able to get what you need to control pain without feeling bad about it. I hope you get the help you need. Its miserable thinking you need to ration your pain meds when you're really hurting.

Im 7 weeks out and still on pain meds.  I actually had to go see a pain management Dr to get things right.  He has me on a Fentanyl patch, and Lyrica.  And for this latest surgery to fix my open wounds, they put me on Roxicet liquid (FINALLY, Ive been telling them for MONTHS, even before my LBL that its what my bariatric surgeon gave me and works very well for me, with my malabsorption).  I had a TON of complications though, and had 9 open wounds and a wound vac on for 6 weeks, soooo....  Im not sure how long is typical, but i DO know that different meds, even in the same class, work differently or not at all for some people.  My pain has never been controlled ****il now), so I suffered for about 6.5 weeks.  There is NO reason for you to be in pain.  It the meds arent working, or you are running out appropriately, they should extend the script or try something new.  I also found that having a muscle relaxer helps a LOT and also Benadryl between doses buys you some time and really helps with the itching that will set in.

Percocet (5/325mg)  script 1-2 every 4 hours as needed and I got 60 pills.  But also my doc implanted a pain ball for me.  I think that has done a world of good, because I at most, I was taking only 1 pill as needed and for the past 2 days, I have taking only 1/2 of 1 pill maybe 2 or 3x a day.  Usually when my drains start to pull a little.  My pain ball is almost done, it will be coming out on Thursday when I go for my 2nd follow up, so I'll see how the pain is after that.

My abs actually don't really hurt.  My biggest pain, beyond the constipation pain I had, is from my swollen thighs (I had inner thigh lipo also).  The skin feels like it is burning and it is so sensitive.  Also, I have some areas that were irritated by the tape on my dressings and those hurt from time to time too.

Hope you start to turn the pain corner soon.  Good luck!

My stomach is mostly okay too. I can occasional pains by the incision but its mostly my back that's killing me. He did some lipo there so it's swollen, plus sitting on it, and being hunched over when I stand. Needless to say I can't ge comfortable at all.

If you need more for pain you should call your doctor.  They don't want you in pain.  They only give a small amount so that people don't have them hanging around like me I did not use any.  Everybody is different.  I did not even take a Tylenol.  Just have the blues every now and then.

Lortab - I've forgotten the strength.  I had the prescription refilled twice as I slowly weaned off of the pain meds.  I tried tylenol and it did absolutely nothing for me.

Percocet, same dose as everyone else every SIX hours. Yeah that didn't work. I was in tears by the last hour. Moved myself up to five and still not enough. Four hours is my magic number. I have enough to get my to my 1 week follow up and you bet my new flat butt I'll be asking for more. Something on my right side is giving me a heck of a time. And my entire backside. He had some difficult work shaping my behind and actually went in the crack. No position is comfortable.

Thanks to the poster who suggested the Benadryl. The itching has sure begun so that is a great idea. I'll be sending DD out for some!
