I'm home, chilling in the recliner.  All is good as long as I don't move.  :-)

Hi all,

Here's an update.  Things are going well, everything considered.  The lipo is what is hurting the most.  It is a combo of numb and pain that is one of the oddest feelings ever.  My doc gave me a pain pump and I think that is helping a lot because I am able to take minimal Percocet, which I'm not so much trying to do, but they do make me nauseous and contribute to constipation, so in this case, less is more.

Unexpected side effect, peeing is a challenge.  The urgency will come upon me so fast that sometimes I just can't make it all the way to the bathroom.  Not fun.  Also, a commode riser would have been a good piece of equipment to get since it is tough to lower myself all the way down to the toilet. Kinda mastering the squat/stand pee stance.  Oh so lady like.

My blood pressure is really low (so low, the nurses wouldn't let me out of the bed the first day) and my visit to the doc on Friday resulted in my passing out in her office.  I think the combo of the exertion of the car ride, going to her office, taking off the binder (pressure released), the pain of having the dressings removed (darn tape!) all put me over the edge.  I was standing in front of the mirror looking at my new body in awe and I got "that" feeling.  Luckily my mom was right behind me with a chair because I passed out for about 1-2 minutes.  It took me a little while to feel better, but once I did, I was ok the rest of the day.  Today though, I almost passed out again after I showered.  Was able to hang on, but got that feeling again.

The doc has me taking double iron and doing lots of fluids.  She thinks the blood pressure issue is due to the lost of fluid volume during the surgery.  So the goal is to build up as much blood volume as possible.

Will update again in a couple of days.  All in all, hanging in there ok.

Hi All!

Here's the 1 week update:  All in all, things are good.  With the constipation resolved, my pain has been minimal.  I had expected a lot more pain, but I've been lucky.  I'm maintaining on about a 1/2 of a Perc 2-3 times a day.  My script allows for 2 every 4 hours, so I would say that is pretty good.  And mostly I just take them when my drains are aching (or in some cases, stabbing me like a little voodoo doll with a hot knife)

I'm getting more mobile every day.  I laugh every time I get up and down off my recliner (or toilet) because the next time I meet with my Trainer, I am going to have to give him a BIG hug for all the squats he had me doing.  That motion SO comes in handy and my legs are used to taking the brunt of my weight because of it.

There is a part of me that is waiting for the other shoe to fall.  I can't believe it is going to continue to go this smoothly (knock wood) but I am hopeful.

Meeting with the doc tomorrow.  She may take out a drain.  That will be exciting. I sure do know how to party.  I'll update again after that to let you all know what she says.

Fingers crossed!

I could have written almost everything you said. I am taking a little more meds. It's more my back that's killing me, doing all the work plus carting around these heavy boobs is work! I stood almost straight today. I couldn't believe it. I go to the dr Friday and will definitely get one of the drains out (it's been 15 ccs or under since Sunday) and hopefully the other one too. It was exactly 30 yesterday.

Here's wishing both of us continued smooth sailing!

Another quick update.... just saw my doc.  Got 2 drains and the pain pump removed.  YAY!!!!  Giant step in making me feel more human.  Seriously, I feel like I just lost another 10lbs! (I didn't of course, but imagine that feeling)  :-)

Thank you both for posting for all us lurkers out here.  Did they just do lipo on the Inner Thigh?  You didn't need skin removed?
