Hi all-

I have been reading past posts and studying up as I prepare for these procedures at the end of July.  It feels like the last step to have an "average" body...

One thing I haven't read a lot about is peoples' choices in compression garments, both stage 1 and stage 2.  I will be heading back to work (mostly seated) during week 4, and I know that compression is my best friend when it comes to limiting swelling.  What did you use right after surgery? Did you like the zipper ones? with suspenders or not? knee length or longer?  Did you buy something ahead of time or suffer in the PS provided option until yours shipped?  I would love to hear about your experiences, good or bad.  I have been studying the marena website and there are so many choices.

Happy to take any other advice you have for me as well!

I have had a LBL with butt aug and anchor cut TT with an extended Thigh lift.

I wore the full body garment sold by www.designveronique.com  my surgeon provided two full sets for us.

I then returned home and purchased two more from shoulder to ankle.  One from www.designveronique.com  and one from www.marenagroup.com I really do think a good compression garment makes a big difference with swelling post operatively.  It also protects your incision lines and keeps you from getting seromas.  I wore the Stage 1 for 8 weeks and then the Stage 2 for 6 months.

I wore them when I worked out.

The only thing keeping me even remotely somewhat comfortable (from both swelling and pain) is the compression.  My surgeon provided one from Marena (which they unfortunately ordered WAY too big for me) and then I have also been using a binder over it.  I have two binders, the one they wrapped me in in the OR immediately after my surgery (this one is a bit more loose and flexible) and then another one that I got from my PS that is more rigid and almost like a back brace.  There are some days, I just cant get enough compression.  I have had minimal swelling of the areas covered by the binder.  I AM however dealing with a lot of swelling and edema in my legs and feet.  Im ordering another 2 from Marena in the proper size.  I have the one that goes from just below the breast down to mid thigh (would be knees for some people, but Im 6' tall and all leg).  Its hook and eye closure then outer zipper, with a crotch cut out.  No suspenders, I dont feel they are needed.  The garment stays up just fine, even for being too big (I even tried to shrink it in the dryer...).  You definitely will want more than one, so that when you launder them, you have a clean one to put on.  And you definitely want to make sure what you get FITS.  Having one too loose does nothing but provide a barrier and some protection to the incisions.
