1 Wee****il Abdominoplasty with Panni removal
I'm so excited...and terrified! My insurance company has actually approved the procedure...only took one submission and the approval came back in a week. I lost over 300 lb and there is so much for them to take off. I can't even imagine what i'm going to look like!
I was just wondering how bad is the pain really? The thought of being disabled is terrifying to me. How long until the pain starts to subside?
I wish they could just put me in a medically induced coma and wake me up when i'm healed LOL
Any advice on how to heal sooner? Anything I can do to make it easier? I read about the stool softeners...great advice...I didn't think of that.
This happened so quickly I feel so unprepared....so different from when I had my gastric bypass...I was armed with info and ready....right now I feel naked and clueless lol
I had extended tummy tuck with muscle tightening and my belly button repositioned and my neck lifted at the same time. I had it done as an outpatient at Yale, in Connecticut using their residency program. The surgery took a long time because of the fact they were trying to get everything perfect, so I was out for 10 hours. I woke up in a chair in recovery, sat with the nurses, peed and went home. It was numb but not extremely painful, my neck surgery was worse, it had stitches behind my ears that were painful. I recovered at home alone, as I do not like to be bothered or be a bother when I don't feel well. My bf came to see me every day and checked on me often on the phone. It was not a hard recovery at all. I went back to work in 12 days from the date of surgery, the swelling is the worst of it. I tucked my drains in my bra so I could go out shopping and whatnot. I think you should be fine, I wouldn't worry and go buy a couple of pairs of cute panties to wear after the drains come out.
Enjoy!
Some people come home after surgery if all goes well but every doctor is different. I was home in 2 days, 2 drains and a pain pump. Im not trying to scare you but this is truth. The very first week was the hardest at home but it did get better. Dont be afraid to ask any questions, Good luck and keep us posted on your recovery.

After losing 270 lbs I had my TT and believe me the recovery was a breeze! Truly! do not fear it! You have lived in the SMO body and you know what that is like, anything following that life for me has been easy.
12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
I had my TT 3 weeks ago. I was not fully prepared for the procedure because I had it performed a week after my appointment with the plastic surgeon. There were things I wished I had bought. Mostly, I wished I known about the pain and the swelling.
So I wrote a very detailed account of my experience. If you read it, you will understand what you are in for. Of course, everyone recovers differently. You also will see a list of the items I bought and those I wished I had bought before the surgery. You may read it on HealthCentral http://www.healthcentral.com/obesity/c/276918/160586/bariatr ic-abdominoplasty-ch?ap=831
I would love to know what you think of the article if you choose to read it.
Good luck with your surgery and speedy recovery.
