Talk to your surgeon. Some lipo and some do not but will still cut and lift the mons. It is definitely something you need to talk to your surgeon about. I had a panni and mons lift. I am very satisfied with mine even with the swelling I stil have.

Ask the surgeon how they plan to lift and flatten your mons. If they do not plan to make incisions down into the mons area and say that can lift it with just a lateral incision across the bikini area, they don't know what they are doing. Go on line and research how the surgery should be done so that you are flat when it is done. I can't stress this enough because so many of us have been left with a jiggling mons area that leaves us with the same shame of our bodies and we have paid 10s of thousands of dollars to be fixed. It sucks. If your surgeon cannot guarantee that you will not have this problem, see somebody else.

I am going to have an anchor cut. So let me see if I understand this there are basically two ways to fix the mons, either an incision or pulling and lipo. Where would the incisiongo? Down the middle??

I do not remember all the details of my consultation with the second surgeon. All I remember is that simply making a lateral incision in the bikin area and pulling up and lipo is not enough. He would make incisions in the mons area and eliminate skin and fat that way.

I am so sorry!!! I haven't even thought about it. I haven't seen mine in so long I dont really know how puffy it is. I have heard a lot of people talk about their mons but hadn't thought about mine at all. I was just going to call the PS to ask about something else. I will put that on the list. Thank you for sharing. Again I am so sorry for how you feel. My legs are going to be really, really bad. I didn't know until I lifted my stomach up. I already know that is going to be my thorn and I already know I will never have money out of pocket to get them corrected. I look like I have bull testicles hanging just under my privates. I am totally serious! With my belly hanging alomost to my knees you can't see it. but it is about a 4 to 5 inch roll on the inside of my thighs that is just wrinkley and hangy like bull balls. I am trying not to think about it and get this one thing done and then pray for help on the next thing.

I feel that all of this surgery should be covered for us but because it is not, we must find a way to be grateful for what we have been able to have done. I understand your sadness over your legs. I have hanging skin in my thighs that makes it impossible for me to feel comfortable wearing a skirtless bathing suit. I remain grateful that I could have the weight loss surgery and that in clothes I look terrific. I am lighter and can move easier. Don't give up on having the rest of the surgeries that you desire done. I have not given up. I have no money but I still keep hoping that one day I will. Until then, I am learning that the essence of who I am is not my physical body. I will pray for you and you pray for me that somehow, some way we will be able to have the surgery we need to have a body that is contoured. We don't expect perfection. Best to you.

I'd like to know how to get approved for an abdominalplasty! My insurance just specifies "skin removal of the abdomen". I wonder if she asks for one instead of a panniculectomy we could get it approved.

Either way, good luck!
