Approved for abdominalplasty
I really wanted a full TT but with insurance paying the bill this is the most I could get. I am happy with it!! This is a one time good deal. I will never have the money out of pocket to pay the difference so I feel blessed with this approval. I have surgery June 4 th. I have an extremely large apron. The Dr. feels like he will remove between 22 to 30 lbs. Yes I look like a freak. that's okay as of June 4 th I will no more. Thank you Jesus!!!! I will be upping my protein starting this Thursday. My protein is in the normal range but on the low side. Any advise would be appreciated. Also I will take all the prayers I can get!!!! God Bless!!
That's fantastic, congratulations!
Tell me... what's the different between a Panniculectomy and a abdominalplasty? I know the difference between a panni and TT, but I wasn't sure what all was involved with the abdominalplasty. Thanks!
Good luck, it'll be great.

Sorry I took so long to get back. It is in short bursts I get on-line. I have been working alot of O.T. for the surgery and time off. I so have short term disability but it doesnt hurt to be a little over perpared because you never know. Instead of just taking off the hanging skin from my lower stomach they are going to make the first cut higher, just below my waist, The second cut will be from hip to hip at my grion area. He will remove all the skin and fat from this area and then put me in a semi-sitting position and sow the two together. That's about all I know. I am sooooo excited. Thanks for the good wishes!!!
Please make sure that your surgeon is gong to work on your mons area too and make you flat! Ask them how they are going to do that. Research yourself how the incisions are to be made for your mons area to be flat. There is no excuse for it not to be. I am 5 years out and cannot afford to have mine corrected. It is depressing and frustrating. I went through so much and he left me deformed.

Can you elaborate on the mons flat thing. What should I ask? I am in the middle of the appeal cycle and want to make sure I have all my questions answered/researched....
I am in the South Bay, Mountian View Area of California..

I assume you are a female. Many people who get abdominoplasty have fat in their pubic area, too. Sometimes if it is not addressed, with the flat tummy the pubic area can look large, like you have a manly type bulge that is impossible to hide.

Some asked what the difference was between a panniculectomy and abdominoplasty and between a pani and tt. They are the same. A tummy tuck ( TT ) is a lay term for an abdominoplasty. The difference between a panniculectomy ( pani ) and an abdominoplasty ( TT ) is quite significant, but also depends on your plastic surgeon.
A pani usually only removes excess skin and fat overlying the pubis. The belly button is either pulled lower, removed and occasionally repositioned.
When doing a pani the mons can and is usually pulled higher. It is not typically thinned as the upper flap that it is sewn to, is also usually quite thick.
When an abdominoplasty is perfomed there liposuction is often used to help contour the abdomen, flanks and mons. The underlying muscles are also tightened and more skin is removed than a pani.
Hope this has helped.
