I did not get lbl yet, but I have been looking for lift chair because I heard they were helpful. I just got one from drugstore.com- delivered in my home for $695 (whi*****luded tax of about $45). It was delivered by truck. The driver took it out of the box and for a $10 tip, he even brought it up the stairs inside my home and attached the back. (It has a weight limit of like 375 lbs and my 6ft husband found it comfortable. This is cheaper than anywhere else and the thing is great looking, quiet and is a lift chair and then becomes a recliner. It fits very well in my traditional style living room and I was even able to use my flexible spending acct to buy it. I don't work for drugstore.com but I wanted to share this because when I went to medical supply stores they were over $1000 and not as nice looking. (The vinyl actually looks like a decent leather).

Good deal!

Just a too for other folks, I picked up the one I used on a website like Craigslist for $200. I later gave it to my grandma.

. Good luck on your lbl!!!

I ended up renting a chair.  It's brand new, would cost $1,500 to buy, and I get it for a month for just under $200.    They delivered and set it up and they will take it away.

I'm glad I went this route because I didn't want a big heavy chair to be a part of our permanent decor, and I didn't have anyone in  my family that really needed   a lift chair when I was done either.   These kind of chairs aren't really my style, and don't match the style of our home - which is more mid-century modern -  so a temporary rental made the most sense in my case.   For $700 I could buy a really nice chair in a style I actually like - without all the heavy (and someday in need of maintenance) motors and mechanics that provide a "lift service" I really only needed for a few weeks.

Glad you are happy with you deal, though  - that is a good price and it's one of the nicer looking lift-chairs I've seen for sure!

These things are great...I rented 2 of them for the hotel rooms I have my out-of-towners in, and ended up buying them. They are wide enough to allow you to shift positions and clean up nicely.

A word of warning to those who are planning on recovering in a recliner....gettin IN is easy, but getting OUT ic hard, and may even risk injury if you also have a muscle repair !
