4 wk post TT pics
I love the word fabulous...you made my day! I answered on the photo comment but yes, I do wear mine all the time. I only take it off to shower and wa**** I feel less comfortable without it and I have been assured that if I wear it for a minimum of 3 months that I will have better overall results.
Maybe others have had a different experience, but I thought the same thing. I told my husband he could go back to work on Sunday (I had my TT on Saturday) but I couldn't get up without help to go to the bathroom and even lowering to the toilet and getting up off of it was very hard using the walker as support. He really helped me with all of that. He also made sure I had fresh water all the time, tried to get me to eat (the pain killers also killed the appetite) and helped me refasten or adjust my garment. He also cleaned and redressed my belly button and drain tube site. Yeah, some of that could have been done when he got home from work but I wouldn't have felt safe getting up to go potty by myself. I also had to go back to the surgeons office on day 2 for a post-op since I had it in their surgery suite.
For me, the pain & discomfort didn't come from my incision, it was from the tummy muscle reconstruction. You use your tummy muscles for everything and you need to figure out how to use your arms & legs for those things. I have no idea how it works for those who do the TT and arm or thigh lifts at the same time. They are some tough cookies! I
I probably would have been fine with only 3 days of full-time help but we have little dogs and I wasn't able to bend down to feed or water them or put them in their beds at night. And the few times I was alone, I overdid things (like housework) and regretted it terribly due to the swelling I would endure.
Again, this is just my own experience but I consider myself to have a high tolerance to pain and recover from things quickly. My surgeon's assistant told me that people like me who try to bounce back too fast experience less satisfactory results and sometimes experience more post surgery issues. So, I have tried to be very good :).
I am bummed that I missed your photos. :)
I have no idea why people can't just hold their tongues if they don't have something nice to say. Sharing results of WLS or plastics is such a personal thing - I appreciate all of you that have "put yourself out there" for the rest of us to learn from.
My TT is in 4 weeks, I am very nervous and I need all the inspiration I can get. :)
