TOM and Surgery Date
It never fails, no matter what I do I ended up with my TOM when surgery is scheduled.....I think it is stress. For my abdominoplasty my surgeon talked to the head of the OR and they allowed me to have a tampon. The surgery was long; therefore, they took care of things while I was under.
For my others, the hospital has given me a pad and once awake I immediately ask for a tampon.
It doesn't seem to impact the surgery at all.
I may have had a few extra potholes along the way, but the journey has been good!
