drains and pain
Also my back and butt hurt a lot. I sit up and helps for a little, i have been walking and the button feels better. I can't lady on my side due to drainage tube..any help???
I'm 2 weeks out post op extended TT. I hear ya! I was told not to be concerned about color change in the color of the drainage. One drain was dark red almost black, the other was yellowish with a little red. I was told not to worry it was a normal process. I am still laying only on my back with a pillow under my knees and two pillows under my head. Do you have anyone to milk the drains while you hold on to it closest to your body (so not to pull on them)? It was helpful for my husband to milk them while I held on so that it wasn't being pulled (which is very painful, I agree). The good news is that on the 4th day you will notice a difference in how you're feeling. At least for me it was a turning point. The first 3 days, I don't even have words for!!! My tailbone kills me from sitting so much too. I got a donut pillow which helps ease that discomfort. Congratulations! You've made it through the toughest part (just my opinion).

I had four drains from my LBL. They each put out a different color from light yellow to dark red. No one seemed concerned about it. I didn't have any pain with the drains, but I was pretty careful not to pull on them while I was clearing them.
Pillows are your friend. Shift them around and under you to change the pressure points on your body. There's nothing to do but tough it out until you can shift a little easier on your own.
