Tummy Tuck ???
I am in the early stages of researching having a TT and breast lift done. I have a few questions
Was your surgery done in a hospital or surgi center?
If done at a hospital, was it same day or could you choose to stay overnight?
What was your recovery like?
How long before you started feeling better?
What was the cost of each procedure?
Thank you in advance
Kathy
I had a tummy tuck and breast lift with augmentation done three weeks ago. IT HURTS! The belly doesn't hurt so much as just being weak. I had to sleep in a recliner for over a week because it hurt to lie flat and I couldn't get up. Needed someone with me for 3-4 days. My breasts are still really sore. Not sure if its usual or not, but mine are still too high. They haven't fallen into their 'pockets' yet. Doctor says we don't start worrying until about 6 weeks, and nothing is done until 3 months? Actually on here to research that a little...
Mine was at a surgery center. Surgery was 7 hours and I was sent home the same day. Not sure how many hours I was in recovery. The day is a blur to me. The doctor's fees were $11,500 and the surgery center was $3,600.
Normally they won't do both procedures at the same time, but for whatever reason my surgeon agreed to. I found some good videos on youtube if you're interested. Look for the Dr. Brown ones. Not me and not my surgeon, but gives you an idea of what they do during the procedures.
I had a lower body lift, which is a 3 in1 procedure (butt lift, outer thigh lift, tummy tuck with muscle tightening).
Was your surgery done in a hospital or surgi center? The surgical center connected with my surgeon's practice. It is licensed and accredited and the staff was trained in critical care for emergencies. The doc's office was located next to 2 major hospitals and they had an agreement with one to handle any emergencies - but they had never had an emergency. It was clean, well-equipped, and only handled healthy patients - no nasty germs floating around. The anesthesiologist was a physician.
If done at a hospital, was it same day or could you choose to stay overnight? The surgery center had its own recovery "hotel." I spent 2 nights there. The first night was planned. The second was because I was dizzy and nauseous when I first got up to walk, so I stayed an extra day. I wouldn't want to do a tummy tuck on an outpatient basis.
What was your recovery like? Rough for the first 2 weeks. The muscle repair is a killer. The drains are a pain to deal with, but not painful. The incision and interior work was sore, but not painful. Did I mention that the muscle repair is a killer?!? Spasming, painful, and for goodness sake, don't cough or sneeze!
How long before you started feeling better? Better after a few weeks. Even better after the last drains were pulled. Then a little better every day. Good days and bad days in between.
What was the cost of each procedure? $13,500 all inclusive ($8,500 surgeon fee, around $1,000 for the anethesiologist, around $2,500 for the surgical center, $1,500 for recovery - or something like that.)
