Discouraged, Disappointed....Regret .... Need some input
I should have asked Dr. Capella about this, because I did buy clothes and they are now huge. I simply had no idea how much smaller I would get. My size 14s were tight on me pre-tummy tuck. Quickly enough I was in 12s and I stayed in them for a long time. So I bought clothes in this size. Then right after my 3-mos post op I dropped to a size 8 in a matter of weeks. For me the magic happened at 3.5-mos post-op.
My measurements
Pre Op Waist 41, Lower Abdo 44, FUPA/Hips 44
14-weeks Post Op Waist 33, Lower Abdo 38, Hips 40

I could have written your post. Every detail, The only difference, is that after a year, my waist was still too wide/straight, and my butt was soo flat I had implants. The surgeon placed them incorrectly under the skin (not under the muscle, like he said) so now I'm having them redone. Painful surgery, so I'm pissed.
As long as I'm going through the bother and pain AGAIN, I decided to get lots of lipo to try to get my waist back. I never re-lost those inches that I gained in the first surgery, and my swelling is years gone. I don't like my new boyish shape.
Sometimes lots of surgeon research, and looking at pictures of every surgery they've ever done isn't enough. I think these particular procedures have so much room for ickyness, and a few problems are common (straight waist, flat butt, uneven incisions).
I'm not sure I'd have had anything done in the first place if I'd have realized how many surgery re-do's I'd need to not be deformed. The heck of it is, my skin wasn't that bad for a weight loss person - no hanging pannus or anything. I honestly feel I looked better before. I hope you really do get some improvement in the swelling, and have results you are OK with, or at least find livable.
So I am having a revision of my butt lift because this was a botched surgery. Not only was the enhancement too much, the sutures on one side did not hold so my butt shifts from side to side and I am deformed. The "breasts" I referred to in the previous post have remained so they'll be fixed, too. I am not only on here to update this post but to say this bad surgical job was not done by Dr. Birkmeyer, whose name appears on my previous post. He did my bypass and I just loved him. I won't name the plastic surgeon who did this lousy butt job but suffice it to say he's not doing my revision. Just wanted to clear this up.
Good luck with your revision. I have spent a lot of time looking at butt lifts lately. It seems to me unless augmentation is done, they just don't come out that good. The problem is though, that the augmentation does not work for very long, unless you go with implants. The problem with implants is that it is a very painful surgery and prone to infection. There does not seem to be a good solution to me. I really wanted a beautiful ass but I am not willing to do augmentation or implants. So I will take the best thwt I can get with the lift, and workout my glutes at the gym. But I do not ever think I will have the ass that I dreamed of.
for those of you that have had augmentation or butt flap, can. You comment about how long your results have lasted. I have been contacted by patients who have told me that after two years their butt flap surgery failed. My surgeon had told me that neither approach works because the fat dies. I really had hopes for the butt flap approach but not anymore.
Thankfully, I have nice projection and my ass looks great in a pair of jeans or leggings. I just really wanted it to be beautiful in a thong. You can see a pic by following the link below. I am on my iPad and this site will not allow me to paste the photo.
