Discouraged, Disappointed....Regret .... Need some input

Six weeks ago I had a lower body lift, (tummy tuck, skin removal, outer thigh lift and butt lift). I was quite diligent in selecting my surgeon, collecting information with regards to the surgery etc... I had consultations with a total of 4 different surgeons before selecting the one to do my surgery.

Anyway, here I am feeling bad about what I'm seeing in the mirror. I went into this surgery with a very curvy figure, hour glass waist and nice butt.  Now, I have no waist. It is even 4 " bigger, can't even button my jeans. I'm hoping this is from swelling. And I now have no butt, I have a "flat" butt. I even raised this concern with the surgeon prior to surgery and he assured me that with all that I had in the trunk it wouldn't be a problem.  Well, it is now.

I am sooooo frustrated and am asking myself what the hell did I do all this surgery for and spend $17K. I went from being frustrated with wide hips, extra skin, and a little too much in the trunk to having NO shape at all.  I don't know what to do....

For those of you who have had a Lower Body lift... did your body shape settle or change months after surgery????

Any input would be helpful...... sorry for the venting..... I'm just a little emotional about this whole situation.

A lot of it is the swelling.  I'm one week further out than you, and still pretty puffy during the day.  First thing in the morning, I have a waist - then it disappears.

Your butt - a little of both.  The butt lift is known to flatten your ass out, which is why some people get fat transfers or butt flat augmentation done at the same time.  None of the surgeons I consulted with thought either method did any long term good.  But, as the swelling goes down in my back, I've noticed that a bit of my butt curve is coming back.  I don't think it'll be what it was before surgery, but I'm okay with that.

Thanks for your input.  I know I am not really far out from surgery, so this is why I have tried not to worry about the results but am having a hard time. I haven't made any comments to the surgeon either I will meet with him on my 6 weeks out from surgery.

Oh, honey, just you wait!  I'm 4 months out from LBL and BL and am just now beginning to appreciate the great work of my surgeon.  You are still swollen, and your butt hasn't had time to settle into position.....mine just "dropped" and formed a cute little hiney!

I was told it can take up to a full year to see the results....be patient. I STILL have swelling after I exercise.

Thanks for the response.   It's just a little overwhelming with all that we go through to have this done and then I look at myself and become uncertain of whether I made the correct decision.

I will take your input and wait, wait, wait......I know I am still swollen and worse at the end of the day. I sometimes feel like I'm being pulled in two.  I just need to relax and trust my initial judgment.

Thanks again.

Kim,

Any suggestion on buying pants. My waist is 3" bigger and I have no butt. All my jeans look like I need a small pillow in the back. I'm currently wearing my gym pants, fortunatly I can do this at work.  But I need pants.... don't no where to start.

Early on I wore leggings with long tops and yoga pants until I could go back into my 'real' pants and jeans.

Can you tell me what size compression garment you were fitted for.  You and I are about the same size.

Thanks,

Tess

Do you remember what your waist and hip size was prior to surgery?  Mine is 33/45.
