I was looking to order the first stage marena garment.  What size was your waist and hips prior to surgery?  They measured mine at 33/45 which I thought was high.  I did have my top and pants on.

I'll have to see if they wrote it down on my record tomorrow when I'm in for my follow-up.  I'm sure she called it out as she measured, but I just don't remember!  But your numbers sound about right - I certainly wasn't a 24/36.  enlightened

Thanks so much.  I like the marena garments because of the double zippers.  They just look like they will not tear you apart in putting them own.  My PS told me to get the garment that I would be most comfortable in.  He plans to put me in a binder right after surgery then the compression garment a week later.  He said to allow for swelling too.

They are nice.  What you don't see in the picture or description is that there are hooks and eyes under the zipper.  So you hook on one side, then the other side, and keep going until you're hooked all the way up.  Then the zipper just glides up.  Okay, there's a little tugging involved, but not much!  The compression garment becomes a real safety blanket, because there are times you feel like you're going to burst out of your skin.  I still wear mine about 50% of the time, and it's really just for my peace of mind.

Tess, you have a tiny waist! I am a true apple shape!! My waist/hips measured before TT  39/40!! I re-measured 1 week post op my measurements were 35/37 and hopefully still shrinking!! My compression garment zips on 1 side and also has hook and eyes along the zipper.

Thanks so much!  I never think of my waist as being tiny.  I guess I just focus on my hips being large.

Hey Tess,

I weigh 135lbs and my height is 5ft 1in
When ordering my compression garment they asked for my waist and hip size. They mention if you are between sizes to go up 1 size, which I did.
As far as length, there are 3 rows of 2 hook and eyes as to allow for shorter and taller torsos.
When in doubt, go 1 size bigger. Let me know how it fits when you get your garment!

Do you know what your waist and hip size were prior to surgery?  Mine was 33/45.

Tess, my doc's office didn't record the measurements, but I measured myself this morning and I'm at 33/37 - I think the pre-op measurements were around 36/42 or something close to that.  At my current measurements, the large still fits well.  I don't think I could go down to a smaller size, and a larger size wouldn't have given enough support.  Hope this helps!

That does help me.  Thank you so much.
