Freedom day....

Today is the last day I have to wear the compression garments.  I have only managed to survive the six weeks by constantly reminding myself that it was for the best.  When I take them off tonight, I was considering giving the garments a fitting farewell by having a bonfire.....too much snow in the yard but it is tempting.

So looking forward to being free again.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but at 11 months post op, I still occasionally wear my binder at the encou the day due to swelling.

Enjoy your freedom but don't burn that sucker yet!!!

Yeah-don't burn or dump the compression garment!
You might need it at nights as some ppl talk of swelling at the end of the day.
Or you can donate the garment (not now-in a few months) to your PS to help someone PS knows is strapped for money.

What a great feeling.  I would join you in the bonfire - I hated those things!

I know the feeling about counting down the days - I'm at 10 days out, but I was also in my abdominal garment 5 out of 7 nights due to swelling.  It just made me look better in the mornings.  Then I had to find my two bra/arm garments for when I went back for my UBL.  So my garments are getting double duty.   Can't wait to be out of the bra/arm garment.

It has only been a day so I don't know about the long term. But before I took the compression off, there was a significant reduction in the swelling in my abdomen over the last week I had it on.  I have found that the clothes I wore before the surgery are loose on me now and I had to buy new bras as the old ones were just too large.  I finally got back into the gym today and I hope that will help with any swelling as well, it remains to be seen.

I find it funny too that everyone at work was asking me if I had lost weight again!

I have a week to go and I'll be out of both garments during the day and maybe in the abdominal one at night.  It'll be nice not to have to cover up 3 layers.  Although, my soft top under both has really helped my skin not to be scratched up by the garments.

I went into soft sports bras until I was 3mo out, then bought new bras.  Most nights, I'd sleep in the sports bra with my abdominal garment on.  Just made me feel tight and not falling apart.
