Considering a Panni... anyone has JUST this procedure done?

Hi Guys! Looking for some advice... I'm considering having the Panni done, because it's covered by insurance. I'm nearly 4 years post-op and looking to find out some of people's experiences of having JUST the panni done. I have 'good muscle tone' according to my plastic surgeon, it just all the loose skin that is an issue. So, anyone that has had this done, I'd love to hear about your experience.

Thanks!!

Mackenzie

Mackenzie,

I just had my panni surgery on 1/7/2013. Mine was also covered by insurance. It is so nice not to have that gross skin hanging down, but after 5 weeks, I am still pretty swollen. Especially as the day goes on. I'm back to work, but need to wear dresses because of my swelling. My surgeon says the swelling should go down. Was very painful surgery, so make sure you get your pain meds filled.

I got alot of great ideas by reading through posts on this site. I rented an electric recliner that I slept in for the first two weeks. Also some good ideas about what to do with the drains when you first get home. One of the smartest things someone had posted was to use her husband's p.j. pants. She pulled the drains through the slit in front and put them in the pockets! Otherwise, I just pinned mine on.

Do everything your doctor tells you to and don't overdo it!

Good Luck!

Robin

Hi Robin!

Thanks for responding. So you just had the panni done right? Not the full abdominalplasty?

I just found out that I'm on the waitlist for the surgery, so very excited!

How long did you have the drains in? Did you have a binder?
