I just had my surgery in September but from my highest weight to now, I'm down just over 120 lbs. (my ticker may not be right) and I have about 25 more to go and I WILL need plastics.  I'll need it all, belly, thighs, arms (my bat wings) and the girls....

Is it true that this surgery hurts worse than the bariatric surgery?

How long is the hospital stay?

How long is the recovery?

Drains??  Yikes!  How long do you have to have those?

How much time off of work?

I have so many questions.... my palms are sweaty just thinking about it....

You go girl on your weight-loss!
Each surgeon hospital and procedure may be different on terms of time and price and pain threshold.
I live in Israel and use Socialized Medicine so I don't schedule hospital dates but wait for a letter in the mail. I have been in hospital much longer than most people here. I also have a very low threshold on pain and tend to have wound healing difficulties.
My TT pain was so much more than my RnY as the muscles are also worked on and the rummy is the body core.
I hope I have helped you.

My PS didn't hurt very bad other than the thighs but neither did my RNY. Gallbladder was the worst surgery I had other than the thigh lift, that pain was the all time worst.

I had 2 rounds 1st was LBL & brachio. Scheduled to be in the hospital overnight but they kept me a second night as I had problem passing out the next day. The 2nd round was out patient (Thighs & BL/BA)

For the LBL & brachio I was off work for 4 weeks and back to gym and everyday life at 6-7 weeks. Brachio and BL/BA was out of work for 10 days and back to normal life at 3 weeks (exercise fully @ 6 weeks)

Drains, I had the last drain for my LBL removed at 6 weeks & I lied to get it out (not by much but couldn't stand it any longer) For the Thighs and BL/BA no drains at all

I had RNY in 2009 and LBL and BL in November 2012.  I had no pain with the RNY.  Never took a pain pill after I left the hospital, and only took them there because they insisted. I really questioned whether anything had really been done!

Plastic surgery was much more intense.  I have a very high pain tolerance...and I found the muscle tightening from the front of the LBL (the "tummy tuck") to be very uncomfortable, but manageable with pain meds.  No real pain in the breast lift, and the incision from the LBL never really had pain or any oozing.  I was off for a week, worked from home week 2 and went back full time week 3.  I only had drains for a week, but some people have them much longer. And if you have complications (there is no way to predict who will/won't), it could be a long healing/recovery depending on procedure.

I am done with plastic surgery on my body now.  I don't care about my thighs and arms enough to trade skin for scars...but that is just me.  I will, however, reserve the right to have face work done if I ever feel like I need it!

Would I do it again???  In a heartbeat!  I'm really starting to see the results at 3 months out, and cannot believe how much better I look!

I had it all done 2 yrs ago with Dr Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico, but my thigh lift was in the groin only, not a long leg lift.

That being said, my DS was much more painful than all the PS.  I just had an upper body lift (UBL) 3+ weeks ago.  I was in the clinic for 7 days the first time and 2 days with this last visit.  Then I was at the hotel for a week both times.  I was home for 2 months the first time and 3 weeks this time.

I came home both times with 1 drain.  My mons drain fell out just before 3 weeks, and my UBL drain just came out yesterday.  Drains are removing the fluid from under your skin, so while they are draining they are a good thing.  They were easy to deal with except they are hard to hide under clothes if you go back to work with one.

It can take a year to really see your results and some folks are in swell hell for some of that time.  I was out dancing at 3 mo out with all my body work.

There wasn't much pain for me at all.  If you want to read about more folks that went to see Dr Sauceda, click on Dr Sauceda in my siggy line.  We have a group here on OH and on FB.
