Abdominoplasty and Brachioplasty at the same time?!?!

Hello!  I was so excited to visit the "Plastics" forum today because it means that I am almost to GOAL and its almost time for plastics!

I had my first consultation with my plastic surgeon last week and we decided on an extended abdominoplasty with a brachioplasty to start with.  My surgeon said he feels comfortable doing both procedures at once.

My question for those of you who have had these procedures - should I have them done at the same time or should I break it up into 2 separate procedures?  My abdominoplasty is covered by my insurance, but I am private pay for my arms.  Financially it is the same price if I get them done at the same time versus 2 separate surgeries.  I know that the abdominoplasty is a huge surgery and I don't want to make recovery even more difficult by getting my arms done at the same time!

Any advice would be helpful!

My surgeon will be doing mine at the same time too on March 26th. I am worried also that it will be a lot at once. The panni part of my surgery is covered by insurance but I had to upgrade and pay for the muscle tightening part of the TT. I am paying for my arms too but my surgeon is giving me an $875.00 discount for having them done at the same time.......that's why I'm doing them together. It is still a scary thought though.

I hope others who have had the two surgeries at the same time will jump on here and tell us what it's like.

Good luck to you!!

I had a full LBL & brachio done at the same time and no regrets doing them together.

I also had them done at the same time. It was no big deal. Just remember to ask for help and not over do it.

Dare I ask how much this costs for self-pay?

I had the LBL, BL, arms and sm thigh lift all done at once, 4 days later a full neck and face lift.  You just don't want to stretch to get anything with your arms, no reaching... put everything close in the kitchen that you might need before you go in for surgery..
