Finally really seeing results of the LBL
The breast lift was instant gratification, and to an extent, the LBL was too, in that I no longer had the jiggly skin right after surgery. However, I was warned that it could take up to a year to see the full, final LBL results due to swelling and the body needing to "settle" into place.
I am now 3 months out. AND I can finally begin to see what these final results will be. My butt has started to settle into a nicely shaped butt! Granted, it is still dimpled, but hey, I had no lipo AND I'm 48 this year! On days when I don't have lower abdominal swelling, I can really see how nice my mid-section looks....and I can REALLY tell in clothes. I've had to replace all of my pants....I can now wear the "skinny" pants that I could never pull off before, and I am a solid size 8 in the skinnys where I needed a 12 before to accommodate the skin.
My scars are still prominent, but I know in time they'll fade, and all in all, I am so very happy I did this!
It’s great that you are happy with your results! We had our LBL around the same time…I am completely amazed at how much my body is still changing three months after surgery! The majority of my swelling went away right before Christmas, but I noticed another drop this week. And just like you mentioned, the more the swelling goes away, the more I can see the results of the muscle tightening. It’s so nice to have a flat tummy :) I have had to replace every piece of clothing I had. Clothes shopping is definitely more fun now, but I am trying to control myself so I can save up for a thigh lift later this year.
Have you noticed an increase in sensitivity around your incision area/scars? I was numb from my belly button down to my mid thighs, and as the nerves heal and the feeling comes back in those areas, I am having a little more pain than I thought I would. Not much, but wearing jeans that rub against the scars is becoming really uncomfortable.
Good for you, Kim!! Jealous on the size change. Mine did not change at all

Thanks for sharing, Kim. I'm in the very begining stages of planning an LBL and this is encouraging! I still feel like the 325 pound woman because I'm in big jeans still (size 20) in order to accomodate my huge pannus. I cannot imagine being smaller. It's like this will be the 2nd half of WLS. I might finally feel like I had it. I'm 45 and ready!!
