question for anyone that has had or knowledgeable on panni removable

I am still early in the process but have horrible rashes that I have been doing everything to eradicate with no luck. Even my doc says it is really bad. My question is when you have a panni removal does it also effect the wrinkles in your upper thighs around your pubic area? The rashes are horrible there also. I do not relish the thought of ANY additional surgeries but can not imagine living with the rashes/itching/pain either. There is no way I can afford additional ps and the panni I believe is at least partially covered by my insurance...no other ps is.Thanks

When I had my panniculectomy the surgeon also pulled up my mons area and reduced the size of it, however did nothing to alter my thighs. Please also keep in mind that there is a lot of swelling after this surgery and it takes months before you really see the final results.
Mary, thanks for posting that "there is a lot of swelling after this surgery and it takes months before you really see the final results" !
I am going on 4 weeks panni post-op and I still cannot fit into my pre-surgery jeans or work slacks. My doc doesn't seem concerned, but I was. Reading what you posted really helped my peace of mind! Thank you!!!!

Yes, Yes, Yes, it was about 6 weeks before my 'pre-tummy tuck' pants count be pulled up ---- and not sure that they zipped at that point.
I am lucky (working from home) that I could wear sweats and yoga-style pants for that time-period.
I had purposely not scheduled any business travel for about 8 weeks, because I did not want to have to deal with hauling luggage -- even if checked with the airline, it still has to be hoisted into rental cars, hotels, etc ------ and I did not want to lift it.
Hang in there -- you are going to be SO HAPPY when you get back into your jeans and zip them up and see that flat, flat, flat tummy!!!!!!
Thank you, Kath for posting that your pants couldn't be pulled up and/or zipped until at least 6 weeks! I'm so frustrated that my belly still seems so swollen! I am very happy that all that extra skin hanging down is gone, but I thought I'd be able to at least wear my "pre-panni" pants by now. I guess I'm just being impatient. Just knowing the swelling should still go down helps! I see my doc tomorrow. The scar looks GREAT and I feel better every day, but from my belly button to my scar is hard and swollen and gets more swollen as the day goes on. Dr. does not want me to wear compression garments, so that's not an option.
Again, thanks for the reply!!

Thanks Mary ...hoping for some shrinkage still since I am still early in the journey and have about 50 more lbs to go. I really do not want more surgery so know I will probably have to live with loose hanging skin . I just am desperate to get this rash to stop! And of course hate all the extra skin.

I was not at my goal weight when I had my panni removed but it was a blessing to have it gone.

I did not have rashes --- when I had my tummy tuck (not just panniculectomy), and the surgeon lifted the mons, it did make a change in the appearance of my very upper thighs ----
I hope your insurance will help -- I was self pay for my WLS and both of my Plastics --- well worth it, but I understand that not everyone is able to self-pay for reconstructive surgery.
