I'm 4 1/2 years out. Lost over 100 lbs. Just now starting the beginnings of a tummy tuck. I have Blue Care Network and it sounds like I'll need six months of rash and/or backpain documentation. Guess I need to get started on that first.

Nervous, as I had complications w/ RnY. But... I figured with the state of health insurance at the moment, I'd better get this done before it gets ever worse.

Of course the surgeon wants my surgery documentation. In a fit of insanity, I ripped everything to pieces. *sigh* I'm an idiot. So I have some research to do.

They may or may not pay for a full tummy tuck (may only pay for a panniculectomy if it is deemed to be medically necessary).

Be sure that when you get your estimates from surgeon's that you find out if you can pay the difference for the full tuck - it is really worth it.

I had 3 consults before I chose a surgeon --- got their names from my bariatric surgeon and from others in my local support group.

You want to find a plastic surgeon who has lots of experience with the WLS patients.
