Just need to vent

Had a panniculectomy on 12/14 had three drains in and two of them the stitches pulled out and then I lost the drains way to early.   So I started developing a seroma that was drained in the office twice.   Then I was going to the office when that morning I notice the one part of my incision that was the least healed started gushing fluid.   Get to the office and the pressure from the seroma caused that part to basically blow open.  So they decided I needed an ultrasound and a drain placed.     They pulled 800cc off when they placed the drain but the wound that was gushing dropped more to an ooze but then the wound started getting bigger and bigger it is now probably the size of a half dollar and as I was flushing the drain with saline I noticed that the saline started gushing out to the open wound.   I go back to the office tomorrow not sure what they will want to do with this wound but it is gross and I'm scared of infection and that it won't heal.     The rest of the incision has healed nicely I really didn't need this.

I had a similar issue only in my thigh. The first time it ruptured I thought I peed myself. The second time I soaked my moms passenger seat. My dr actually encouraged me to squeeze mine through the incision. Part could have been due to my distance from him...I saw him 8 times in my first 4 weeks post op.

One day it just closed up and healed over. There is an "indent" or "crater" (I lack a better description. I hope you heal quickly!! Keep it covered with maxi pads. Mine leaked frequently.

Thanks for the reply mine is a complete open hole/wound right in the middle of my lower abdomen.  I now have to pack the wound with wet/dry dressing twice a day.   It will take a while to heal and may leave a crater but with careful tending I should heal eventually.   Now tomorrow I go to have the drain checked not sure if they will pull it or leave it longer.
