PS scars
Hi again,
So I got in touch with Dr. Sauceda and after reviewing my pics, he recommended a lower body lift, an upper body lift, arm lift, breast lift with augmentation and thigh lift with an incision extending from the groin to the knee. I initially wanted/thought I would need a TT, inner thigh lift with an incision in the groin only, breast lift with augmentation and liposuction of the back. I really want PS but that is a lot of scars. Has anyone had all of those surgeries? How are you dealing with the scars? Do they restrict what you wear? The ones I most concerned about is the upper body lift and the thigh lift scars. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
So far I am not restricted in what I wear. A few things I have come to terms with: numbness (which might disappear) on the inner leg, a simple caused by my drain (which the dr says he can fix in office) and the groin incisions near my rear are the only sore incisions I still have (I notice every toilet seat)...
I totally had a meltdown Bout the inner thighs prior to surgery. For me they are pretty much covered or hidden. I hated the sagginess so I figure if the scars fade significantly I will be happy I did it. The skin wasn't going anywhere. I am happy to answer any questions.
I have had it all, except breasts and upper body lift. That will be happening this year.
My thigh lift is from groin to below the knee. It's fading and I don't mind it. It's not visible from behind, but it is from the front. I haven't worn shorts because I was protecting it from the sun. It was only a year last summer, so I decided I wouldn't expose it to direct sunlight until next summer.
LBLis not visible unless I wear the low rise jeans and my shirt rides up.
My brachiioplasty scars are almost invisible. I had that done December 2009. I wear short sleeves and really don't care. They cannot be seen from behind or from the front view. If I raise my arm, you can see them.
I lost so much weight and had so much excess skin, I welcome the scars. My scars are 100000% better than the skin. If you can live with the skin, don't do it. Do what bothers you most and then see if you can deal with the scars. I have to say, not all parts of my body have scarred the same. Thighs and Arms will scar different than the tummy. It's the fibers of the skin. I discussed this in person with Dr Sauceda. The scars my right arm are worse than my left. The scars behind my ears from my facelift are raised and purple. My hair covers them well. The scars on my eyelids and in front of my ears have totally disappeared. You can't see any sign of surgery there.

Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
I had all those procedures plus a lower face lift by Dr. S. 6 weeks ago. Although my scars haven't faded, they're not nearly as bad as I expected. If I were walking, no one would see the scars on my legs, but if I crossed my legs people could see them. But this is just 6 weeks out...so they'll fade. The breast scars and UBL are the best so far. I wouldn't wear something with a plunging back, but I wouldn't wear that anyway. The UBL line goes along with the braline, so anything you'd wear that wouldn't expose your brassiere wouldn't expose the UBL line.
My skin is much smoother now. I feel like a million bucks.
Hope this helps.
I had the LBL, BL, arms, groin only and a full neck & face lift. I'd rather have the scars. I'm going back on Fri for the UBL. Like Dee said, if the scars are going to bother you and you can put up with all the skin... I couldn't. I was out dancing at 3mo out, my arms were up with the twirls, and I really didn't care who saw. Not one of the several gentlemen that I danced with even made a comment. They were still very angry, now it's hard to see them.

Thank you guys so much for your comments. I've decided that I will follow Dr. Sauceda's recommendations. Everyone raves about him here, so I feel like I can trust him. I'm not what the relationship status is for you guys, but if you're single and dating, are you concerned about the scars when you get intimate?
I'm single and not at all concerned about the scars. I find men don't really notice (or care much) about scars. You may want to start another thread on this topic, so people can react to it - there was one on this same topic a couple of weeks ago. Some people have had awful reactions.
It may depend on your age group, too. Older men are less likely to be bothered.
I would say mostly it depends on how YOU react to your scars. If it's no big deal to you, it won't be to them either. Would a nonelective surgery scar be something to be concerned about?
