Update -- Mammography after Breast Lift

I had the follow up mammogram and ultra-sound yesterday ---- and they have decided that what they were seeing is some scar tissue/thickening on my right breast -- above the nipple.

My surgeon removed my nipples and re-positioned them during my breast lift ---- and the healing has been very good, but is showing a shadow on my mammogram -- and they wanted a closer look.

I am relieved that it is not anything serious - and will be sure to get in next year for a follow up (I typically am a 'slug' about going for mammograms and bone-density scans -- but promise to be faithful to once a year from now on).

Thank YOU to everyone who expressed good wishes and encouraged me to not panic!!!!!!

And everyone else out there --- get those boobies checked -- and don't freak if they see some scar tissue!!!

Thank you for your update.
Now I need to know when I need to do a mammogram, but my mastopexy was end of July 2012 so I think I have time.

I just went in today.  My last mammogram was just before my BL 2 yrs ago.  It was way easier than when the boobs were floppy bunny ears.  I won't freak now, if they want me to come back for another x-ray.

Glad it all worked out, it is scary.

Hi there, I am glad it all worked out. I will need to be doing a breast lift and implant and was told one could lose feeling in the nipple area when its repositioned. Is that a common occurance?

I lost no feeling from my nipples being moved.  I don't think any of Dr Sauceda's patients have complained of loss of sensation from their nipples.  This is good news!
