so i realize that i am seriously jumping the gun here...

I haven't even gotten my surgery yet (scheduled for the end of Feb) and im already thinking tummy tuck! lol i guess no time like now to start saving =)

Anyways my question is my insurance will cover a pani, but i'd like to do a full TT. So do you think that i could just pay the difference? Or will i just have to pay for the full TT since they only cover the pani? Or.. should i just get the pani and see if thats all i will need (let it heal and wait like a year to see if i should just go in and do the full TT?)

oh and how much is a TT??

Cant wait to take my after picture

I love a girl who plans ahead!!!  LOL!

My TT was 6,750.00 (Tucson, AZ) -- it was an out-patient procedure performed at a fully accredited Surgical Center -- full anesthesia and nursing/recovery care.  I was there for about 6 hours total --- 4 hours of surgery and 2 hours of recovery, if I remember correctly.

My insurance did not pay anything ---- I paid my surgeon's fee (he paid the anesthesia) and I paid the surgical center -- the total was 6,750.00 and I paid by credit card to get the points -- and because neither offered me a discount for paying cash.  (I had the cash and would have taken a 3% cash discount if they had allowed it, but both places preferred to take my credit card and pay the bank fees -- so I scored on the rewards points).

I read here a lot -- and it seems that many, if not most surgeons will allow your insurance to pay for the panni -- and let you pay the difference to 'upgrade' to a full tummy tuck.  I am sure that you would want to only do it once --- one recovery time.

You might also find that by that time, you want to have more than just a Panni or more than just a Tummy Tuck, depending on how well your skin recovers from your weight loss.

I had my arms and a breast lift done about 16 months post Realize Band (20 pounds above my goal weight) and then I had a full Abdominoplasty about 2 3/4 years post Realize Band (had been at my goal weight for over a year).

My surgeon follows patients for a year -- and does corrections for free ----- I am scheduled to see him on Monday to talk about doing a little lipo just below my belly button to make it flatter

One more thing.

If you attend WLS support groups after your surgery, ask people in the group if they have had plastics, who they used, etc.

you can get great ideas from local people and most will show you their results (and before pictures) as well as talk about local prices.
