Yep It's me again I know i keep coming on hear for advice feedback and opinions. thats what the website is for correct. Well i hear all these other stories about peoples body lifts but never and arm surgeries.. There has to be someone out there who had surgery with complications or not. anyways i went back to the doctors thought i would need a skin graft nurse says my arm looks like a little kid who was riding there stake board and fell off and now has a big scab, i guess thats suppose to make me feel better,, considering where i first came from a month ago when i had wound vac machine on and  a big cader hole. will i still refuse to look at arm just cant come to terms with how it use to look. anyways im sure i still i have plenty of more months to gp before my skin actually fills in. Well i know the long scar under arm stays there but doesn't it get a little less visible? I just wish there was someone out there who had a big geeping hole after arm lift someone whos stitches busted wide open and had to endure my some pain. Oh well enough of my pity party.. i know in time this shall all come to pass.. thanks for listening.

I am so sorry that your plastic surgery did not go as planned and wish I knew the right words to say.  I am 3 weeks out from an arm lift and ,while my scars look a little knarley under my arm where I did pop 2-3 stitches, nothing like what you have had to endure.  The only consolation, and I know it is small, is that our bodies are amazing machines that can often heal itself and hopefulyl down the road, this will be a bad memory.

While my current opening doesnt sound as bad as what you have to deal with, I have a nice 4" in diameter hole on my freaking boob....it's nasty and for the first two weeks, I literally needed an anxiety pill just to shower, clean and bandage it. It is starting to heal, but I know how much it sucks to deal with complications - arms, or any other body part.

I know it doesnt help now- but this will pass, and this will become just a distant memory one day. You've been through a lot and I'm sorry to hear that - just try and take it one day at a time, and it will get better.

12/28/12 is when I had my arm lift. A week later my so called plastic surgeon had me put silvadene cream in my angry stitches....three days later my my skin at the stitches became mush and of course my incisions tour open. I had four revisions to attempt closure and in all attempted skin at incision line becomes mush/soft and again the wounds tear open. Between the operations, approximately two weeks ago I had a wound vac placed on both arms...it helped with the draining and skin healing, but I truly believe that the PS should have left it in longer so that the skin could have been closer together b4 attempting closure again. As of 2/8 another would vac was installed. Effective Monday, I will be seeking the assistance of a more experienced PS. I am at the top of the hill with this; therefore I don't have more to offer, other then the wound vac is the fastest way to assure that me deep and long incisions heal faster. If you would like to see pictures I have them. Will try to post them here.

Thank you for sharing your experience - and I'm so sorry for all that you've been through.  I wish I could reach through the screen and hug you (gently, of course!)

I have my arm lift later this week, so of course reading this makes me very nervous.  Or, i should say "more nervous" because I was already nervous.  ;)    I have two questions for you, if you don't mind...  you call your plastic surgery your "so called plastic surgeon" -- why is that?  Did you find out he wasn't board certified or something?   Second, what is silvadene?

I'm glad you are getting a second opinion, and doubly glad it is from someone more experienced.   Best wishes to you, sending you lots of healing vibes.
