Is spring break enough time to recover from Abdominoplasty?

Thank you all!  Yes I've been thinking about it for awhile.  I go back and forth about whether I should just be happy or go for the best.  I don't have excess skin like many on OH do, but I certainly have the "punched down bread dough" and riddled stretch marked skin that is not usual of a childless 25 year old.  I've come so far but my tummy is frowny.

Expenses keep me from jumping in, as does the fact that I don't have kids and might want them in a few.

I too think I have a high pain threshold.  The morning after I had my VSG I found out my granddad was in the hospital so we left Denton at 10am (after a noon surgery the day before) and took pain meds then but did not take them again until getting back from the ER with my graddad at 6pm-ish.  I took pain meds for about another day, but after that quit, which was good because of so much going on with my granddad and then him passing away that Sunday early morning.  Whew that was a horrible time.

I'm in law school too- I guess I'd want to know: 1. What school are you in? 2. What year are you in? 3. How many credits that semester? 4. How far away is surgery from exams? and 5. how much are you a "make it work" type person?

I'm a 3L, and I decided to move from gainesville to do a visiting student semester for the last semester in Houston, Tx. I had four weeks between when I had my TT surgery and when school starts. My band surgery was like having a papercut compared to this one. Even fixing my erosion to a modified VSG, my 10 day hospital stay, and my 4 drains were nothing compared to the pain and healing necessary for this surgery. For me, it was five days of absolutely doing nothing, and then things got better, though somewhat slowly. I'm four weeks out, and though I'm not in pain much anymore, there is still some residual tiredness and just not feeling like myself. its affecting my performance as a student (or, preparing to go back in a few days), but not to the extent that it isnt worth it.

As a fellow law student, I understand how precious that amount of time is. I know that its unreasonable to think you will have that kind of time once you practice. Therefore, if I knew that my grades were reasonable and I could be caught up or ahead in all my reading, and I could have the surgery the thursday or friday before break started, I would have 100% done it in your position. My stomach looks so much better. I can't wait for how I will look when I stop swelling and healing and everything settles.

Good luck with your decision. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm also 25, btw ;)

I stayed on "bed rest" for 7 days and then went right back to taking care of my young twins and doing my job as a reservations agent. I did find that the meds made me get confused easily and my job requires a certain amount of focus. I just told my coworkers what was going on, and everything went fine.

My husband actually left the country when I was 7 days out, so everything was on me with the kids, house, work, etc. and I pulled it off at 37. Surely someone your age has more stamina.

GO FOR IT! AND GET THE BOOBS, THEY'RE AWESOME!
